look to be a factory boost sensor probably related either to the boost gauge in the dash or the factory boost solenoid.

Factory MAP sensor. If you had a factory boost gauge the sensor for that is tucked down behind the drivers strut tower.

Not used for the running of the car, its official name is 'Turbine pressure sensor', probably helps out with boost cut or something.
