Anyone know of/have access too - a weight bridge somewhere in Melb?

There used to be one in Tullamarine i used to use years ago at a logistics company outside thier gate but its no longer there so that kinda sucks.

So im looking for another (as are a few mates) so we can weigh our cars and find out the actual numbers

Lemme know!

Cheers :D

we have scales for our work commodore cup cars so you can find out the weight on all 4 corners. i'd have to ask the mech for permission though seeing as i'm not technically allowed to use the workshop (even though i do )

Try a local tip/waste transfer station - Not sure if it is free or not.....

or

you can fool them into saying you have rubbish to dump, you then have drive up onto the scales, peer over into the office and you will see the weight of your car.

I weigh my patrol at BP in Fitzgerald road in laverton. Cant do corners but can do axels!!

I go when its not busy, ask first and they dont charge me......or you can just drive on the weighbridge, go inside and look at the screen behind the cashiers head and it has the weights there!

Ash, there's one in Cheltenham/Moorabbin at the Metal recyclers... i don't think they charge from memory, but if they do it would be in the $5-$10 range.

It's opposite the street that Snowy works down...

Ahhhh found it, Highett metals

    • Just remake the bracket. It's just bent steel with a nut welded to it. It is thinner material than you might remake it in. You just have to get the thickness right in places where it absolutely must be (and there might not actually be any such places. The same motor trimmer who you get to work on the outside of the seat would no doubt have done exactly this type of repair in the past.
    • Yeah I agree, it's almost impossible to get them out without inflicting some sort of damage to the subframe!  Especially when you get excited with the air chisel like I did!  I'm not fussed, it's a somewhat non-critical component in terms of inhibiting function if there were dags or slight damage to the bore of the bush location.  Once you bolt it back up it never moves.  It's not like a suspension arm that needs to move through a range of motion that damage would actually make a difference to.
    • Update: pulled the passenger bracket off and looks some what universal. the driver bracket is proper cooked and don’t see how I could get it fixed.   my thought process is, buy a cheap passenger seat and swap the bracket over and foams as mine are cooked
