u could try hallam tip, ready mix plant at the back, they got a weigh bridge as you drive in, dunno if its free though. theres also one on ordish road in dandy (off greens road). again, dont know if its free.

hm.. i work for the company that works at the tip, im in the clayton area working on the land fill's there,

for an easy access weigh bridge with parking would have to be Clayton Regional Public tip ... on the corner of Ryans road and Clayton road.

there is a speed hump in there but u can go around it, and there is one at the other end but just a small carpark one should be good,

Guys a bit of a prick there (brown nose) but im sure if your rock up with a decent amount of cars and get someone who is a smooth talker to bargin with him, say $5bucks each car into his pocket im sure he wont give a shit :)

If a supra came in @ 1100kg's, then those scales are far from accurate :P

Just got back from a weigh bridge meet.

We went to one in Kilsyth, nice people there, let us negotiate to quickly run 15 cars on.. it only took 10 minutes to do.

I filled up a full tank just outside the weigh bridge so it would be easier to calculate.

Came in at 1600kg (weighbridge rounds to the nearest 20kg). So minus ~55kg for full tank, plus I have the boot stripped out, it seems about right when compared to the spec sheet (1560kg).

These are our results to the closest 20kg:

Daihatsu Sirion GTVi, 100% fuel - 900kg

Honda S2000, ~50% fuel - 1220kg

Honda Beat, ~25% fuel - 760kg

Nissan 350Z, 100% fuel - 1520kg

Nissan Pulsar Gti-R, ? fuel - 1260kg

Nissan Skyline R31, ~50% fuel - 1400kg

Nissan Skyline R34 GTR Vspec, 100% fuel - 1600kg

Nissan Skyline V35 350GT, ~50% fuel - 1560kg

Mazda MX5 soft top, ~50% fuel - 980kg

Mazda MX5 hard top, ~50% fuel - 1000kg

Mitsubishi Evo8 MR, ? fuel - 1440kg

Mazda RX7 FD3S, ~10% fuel - 1240kg

Suzuki Ignis, 100% fuel - 920kg

Toyota Celica ZR, 100% fuel - 1160kg

Toyota Soarer almost completely stripped of everything, ~30% fuel - 1420kg

Interesting list I must admit there are a couple of figures I am surprised about. R31 I would have been sure was around 1300kg.

There are a few track soarers that are into the mid 1300kg range which are only interior and sound deading removed and light weight seats. Still with stock glass and panels, they don't weigh anywhere near as much as people make out. They certainly have the capability to be reduced to 1300kg as a dedicated track car.

There is a soarer track only build currently going on and the target is 1100kg. They have plastic windows fiberglass gaurds rear quarters bonnet and boot, I don't think they will make that but I cant wait to find out where they do end up.

    • I clean my wheels every time I was the car, I also clean the barrels, the only product I use on the wheels is truck wash, followed by wash and wax, cleaning the barrels is easy with one of these microfibre thingies on a stick from Sabco, there also great for getting in between the front guards and body, and tight spots in the engine bay ย
    • An updated post here. Sounds to me like there's definitely a bit of sketchiness here.ย  Old mate with 10 rusting Torana's in the front yard might be more who they're focussed on. (For right or wrong).
    • Is this not just about people wrecking, and storing, multiple cars in their front yard? I now a tow truck driver that was contracted by the council to clean up housing commission front and rear yards in houses and unit car parks I'm all for working on, and doing maintenance on your car in your garage or driveway, but some people definitely take the pissย  There's one house locally to me that I walk past regularly where the front yard and driveway looks like a wreckers, multiple cars in various stages of being stripped, and the yard looks like all of fluids are basically dumped on the ground I may be wrong, but it seems that the initial reports, which I've seen nothing actually official about yet, may be getting taken out of context, like alot of the latest "the sky is falling" stuff found on the youtubes for clicks
    • have they? Link appreciated. I live in Casey. I can see both sides of the argument in this case. There's a lot of sketchy stuff going on. There needs to be a clear definition of what this is supposed to be IMO. I wager the intent was to be a broad sweeping brush against people who have 4 cars up on blocks on their front lawn, not someone who services their own car behind their own gate on a weekend bothering probably nobody. But it'd be hard to legislate the difference there.
    • Oh, the wheels were already off. I wouldn't normally take them off to clean them although it does make it easier with the ceramic, so I might take them off when reapplying. I don't drive much but now with the ceramic coat, when I do drive and they get dirty I can get most off with the pressure washer. I'll be switching to dirtier pads soon which was the motivation for the ceramic as I usually just clean them and sometimes use Autoglym wheel protector. Nah, f**k the barrels! Haha, I'll give them a quick scrub when they're off the car and a pressure wash, but even I draw the line with the barrels. Yes, dark coloured wheels allow you to get away with a lot! ย
