Hi Guys,

Back again. Had to make a new membership becuase my old one is really screwed up.

I just wanted to let you know that in relation to the topic of discussion that generated so many posts before, my R34 GTT also managed to finally lock into 3rd gear.

Rather than re-wire Solenoid B, which is one of the designated fault sources for this problem, I managed to source a Nissan shift solenoid kit from Nissan Australia. Specifically, from their dealership at Burwood.

The cost.................$449.

The install...............$350.

The car now runs as it should.

I will post the part number for the shift solenoid kit shortly.

Regards

Jim (TR34GT)

Good to hear you got it sorted, it's damn annoying when it happens!

Hey 666DAN,

Thanks mate. It was a long process. Would you believe that it was only the guys in South Australia, MV Automatics, who had faith in the solenoid re-wiring. I couldn't get anyone to re-wire where I live. The guys here had no experience in this regard. I can thoroughly recommend getting hold of the full solenoid kit though. You were right. It was the solenoids after all. Glad I took the chance, as right up to the end, my autotrans (specialists) could not read the fault code, even when I brought the car to them with the fault still in place.

By the way, the $40 induction box we made still works a treat.

Watch this space for the answer to the negative camber adjustment on my car as well as a performance tyre at the right price.

Hope all is well. Regards

Thanks for the follow up mate.. it's great when members are able to come back and tell us how they went.

Hey Howie.

Just wanted to let you know that the part number mentioned was definitely right.

The wrong part number was ordered twice yb different autotrans specialists, until I found the right people to speak to at Nissan.

Hope all is well, and the white R34 in the pic looks great.
