Trying to work out if my O2 sensor needs replacing. I get average economy (16l/100kms) but I do drive frequent short trips and am running about 240rwkw.

When I check my sensor in the PFC menu it cycles all the way between 0.1V and 0.9v about once per second.

Can anyone who has recently replaced their O2 sensor confirmat that this is normal? I understand that it should cycle, but all the way from 0.1 to 0.9 and back again? I thought it was only meant to cycle between about 0.4 and 0.6 V.

Cheers.

It will cycle around 0.5V at cruise. At idle, it could do anything because of the low gas flows over the sensor.

Frequent short trips will absolutely kill fuel economy because the majority of your travel time will be on a "cold" engine, and the engine is running mega rich while it is cold.
