Is anyone else having alan hunt chasing them for supposed outstanding debt, which is not owed?

I recieved a call an letter from the debt collectors, claiming I owe multi-trak $468. The thing is i never renewed my subscription and clearly stated on a phone call to quick trak, that I would not be renewing my service, and wish to cancel it. The representative on the phone told me ok, and my account would be closed, nothing owing or anything.

Now I magically owe them $468 for a service I clearly cancelled over the phone, and never recieved... I mean if I did in fact renew my service, wouldn't they of deducted my credit card? This is a joke!

Any ideas what I can do to clear this up, the debt collector is obviously biased. I don't want to go down the road of payign $1000's for legal fees. Nor am I going to pay for something I don't owe.

Yes Alan Hunt is chasing me.

I am in the same boat for $156.00, I cancelled over the phone, the debt collector sent me 'invoices' that were unpaid, ive never seen an invoice from them before - i cancelled over the phone, stupid me for not requesting it in writing.

Stupid thing is this was in April 07, and its come to bite me in the ass 2 years later.

Im researching credit card bills, but its that long ago I have to go into the bank. Ive payed it, but im not happy about $156.00 for nothing.

If you still monitor this thread let me know how you went.

I have just come across this forum.

I am the Sales Manager at Vix Quiktrak and would like to verify a few things I have read.

The old owner of Quiktrak, Multitrak Pty Ltd was placed into administration in September 2008.

All of its Australian assets were bought back by Vix Quiktrak Pty Ltd which is owned jointly by Dead Guppy Pty Ltd (Pallister Family Trust) and Vix Technology Pty Ltd (Duncan Saville of Utilico).

The previous company had a lot of financial drain due its expansion overseas, this is no longer a factor for Vix Quiktrak which only acquired the companies Australian assets.

Vix Quiktrak have already upgraded and re commissioned the NSW network which is fully operational.

Customers who have paid monitoring in advance to Multitrak previously cannot be refunded by Vix Quiktrak, as they are separate Entities.

For those customers who re-sign with Vix Qtk we are honouring all outstanding monitoring credits for monies paid to Multitrak.

We are working on upgrading and re commissioning our networks in QLD, Melbourne and Adelaide, with Melbourne due on line this month.

We are also aiming to deploy a new network in Perth.

If anyone does have any questions you can contact Vix Quiktrak on 1300 885 461 and speak to James or cameron, or alternatively email me on cameron@quiktrak.com.au

too late for me - I pulled the brisbane city council off the QT system so you lost $10k/yr on that due to the netowrk NOT coming back up. terry crews was WELL aware of of this and stated that the system would be up in 3 months (this was end of JAN) - come MAY and still nothing - so bye bye.

for you reference - look up metrolink.

Cam why don't you just get your Dad,Mark Pallister to write on these forums and explain to everyone why he put MultiTrak into administration?

I will declare an interest here being a disaffected ex employee who just happens to know the truth, which is not what you are posting.

The reason why Melbourne etc are not operational is because Comms group seized the assets in lieu of the $100k owed.

What about all the other suppliers who were owed money Cam who never got paid like the monitoring company Signature security?

And while we are at being honest get your dad to post on here about the $5.5m owed to noteholders and the winding up notice over Dead Guppy by Austin Watson?

All people have to do is a ASIC search and they can find the intention to wind up Dead Guppy,so why are you chasing people for money Cam when Dead Guppy will be wound up?

Want to talk Cam and discuss the truth about VixQuiktrak and your Dad on here?

I hear also Duncan Saville is not a happy camper with your Dad at the moment too Cam

PS

love your pics on Facebook and Dads

you have the wrong james with your little facebook stalking there. why post anonomously? with melbourne office open and network coming back on line within the next 2 weeks obviously you are not in full possession of the facts. you may enjoy life more if you move on and get one.

whilst my time is not as readily avaliable as some peoples, if anyone has any relevant QuikTrak enquiries i will be happy to help.

bring brisbane back on line then.. its 100 customers as you seem to think and to be honest a lot of people up here are simply a little put off with how this was handled. myself included. not only have I needed to rearrange metrolink it damn near cost me a $60K contract! in regard to the whole situation and brisbane , I know mark had info on it as did terry. though the story I has was the gear was pulled out and sold off for the brisbane network.

MLB was fire damaged as I understand and terry was there (when I last spoke to him) assessing things.

care to clarify.

Cam,why do you post anonymously?and what "network" are you referring to?

Melbourne was supposed to come on line this week and there is no network as you describe and are you handling enquiries for Quiktrak or VixQuiktrak or even Deadguppy?

If you are answering questions why is Austin Watson winding up DeadGuppy?

And why is Quiktrak Networks now being wound up as of June 5th?

Its all happening Cam but not as you say or is this Dad i am talking to?

First track tests in melb will be done tomorrow. The next few weeks will then be spent getting the net work right. Then we will focus our attention to QLD. There is no truth behind any fire damage or the network being sold. However the base stations where pulled out and sent down to r&d centre in adelaide. We have 64 brand new base stations sitting there ready to go and are looking to expand all our networks, including roll out in Perth. These things take time and money and until we have a distribution base set up in QLD to ensure we can; A- provide service and installtions and B- generate old and new business we are in no position to re deploy the net work.

From what i understand Chris you where always a pleasure to deal with and I would love to hear any imput you may have regarding our Queensland operations. if you would like to shoot me a email that would be great and when i come up there if you would like to put a face to a name i would be more than happy to meet with you.

    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
