datalogit is still the mainstream supported 3rd party powerfc software that widely used.

andre is still working a lot on fc tune and he is also make a hand controller to do all the work, to replace the datalogit box and the legit apexi hand controller but its still work in progress.

there is no cheap magic solution and basically datalogit is the only way to go

yeah there is a new box just on the market that i have been lucky to test and check out

if you are interested its on their website www.fc-hako.com and ill be adding it to the powerfc FAQ this week

and I could use this fc-hako to change fuel maps between 98 and E85?

I am right in thinking there is no other way to change fuel maps other than hook up a PC to the powerFC?

yes you can use fc-hako to change maps, just like you can use datalogit do it as well

yes there is no way to change maps other than using a laptop/PC and the PowerFC

this is becuase the powerfc only ever has one active map at any one time

you could, certainly bend your tune to suit E85, but it is far from a complete map change

ie bend the injector correction and using Temp IGN/INJ to run e85 but i wouldnt want to use it as a daily requirement

it depends on how much different the e85 tune is. is it compeltely different or just a bend of the same 98 tune?

Guys,

If you have any questions about the FC-HAKO, please post them here.

I'm responsible for implementing the complete hardware interface solution that works with all PowerFCs, and works with official and third party software including analog input support for both (thanks to kashima for fc-pro information!). It includes USB support directly, so it doesn't use RS232 signals (+/- 12V) for serial.

Thanks to Paul for willing to test out the device in the flesh, and to include it in the next update of the FAQ.

Anyway... it's been an interesting journey and experience to produce and implement this long sought-after piece of hardware for a reasonable price. It was a huge challenge and it is no wonder that quite a few people attempted or believed they could do it but failed.

the fc-hako cable is the same as the datalogit cable. they both plug into the powerfc and then plug into your laptop or PC and away you go

be sure to note fc-hako is a cable solution and datalogit is a cable and software solution

in the testing i have done it works the same and performs well and lets you use a number of applications

the cable is on their website as per bk's post and ill be adding it to the powerfc FAQ this weekend with some photos etc

there are photos on the site as well

Guys forgive me for going a bit off topic here but I am also going down the E85 road after my datalogit turns up and although a probably stupid question do you need the Hand Controller as well if using the lappy to switch maps???

My brand new h/c is not compatible with my PFC :D so I have to source an older version one

I do love a nice tight hako.

good product and very well positioned price wise. cheaper than a datalogit but still very useful. good idea to just focus on the hardware and let people use their own software. should be a winner. I might add one to the bits and pieces. :D

nope, you don't need the hand controller if using FC datalogit or fchako to tune and switch maps. these products (and a laptop and software) can do everything the HC can do, and more. so there is no need for a hand controller if you buy and use this product. the only thing the HC is better at is as a permanently mounted monitory tool.

were is this software downloadable from, can i look at it before buying the dongle thing ?

This is a hardware-only solution.

Software compatibility guide is on the website, under the technical tab.

There's only one piece of hardware on offer. Everything else mentioned are either competitors or vapour-ware.
