and I could use this fc-hako to change fuel maps between 98 and E85?

I am right in thinking there is no other way to change fuel maps other than hook up a PC to the powerFC?

Sounds like a good idea to be able to change tunes without the laptop.

What settings are different?

I might be able to implement this without a PC involved, and allowing the hand controller to be connected to the FC-HAKO. I could make it that if you do a specific function on the hand controller that the FC-HAKO will read / write TUNE 1 or TUNE 2.

I think that is a more elegant solution.

Some more news / updates:

1) FC-HAKO now works with Toyota JZX100 auto (v3.43) as there is a PowerFC firmware bug. I guess it doesn't matter for the Nissan / Skyline crew :) Massive thanks to the Russian who was very patient in helping me debug and resolve the issue. Without people like him, it's very hard to resolve obscure technical problems. With english not his primary language, it was even more impressive that he managed to comprehend my instructions flawlessly :)

2) Repaired another PowerFC (Subaru WRX), this time a communications port failure. So it's legitimate what Apexi advise to NOT disconnect and reconnect HC (and other devices) while the PowerFC is powered up. Eventually the PowerFC comms port will fail.

3) Apparently Copilot development will cease.

4) Apparently Apexi (or AP Engineering) attempted to do a PowerFC for the VG30DETT as evident in this screenshot

5) FC-HAKO works no problems with RB26DETT D-Jetro PowerFC.

6) Haven't sold one FC-HAKO to a Nissan Silvia owner in Australia yet. Hmm.

BK.

i recall seeing a VG30 pfc somewhere, i thought it was just a rare ap eng rip, or you think its just something recently?

and re: DO NOT disconnect hand controller while car is on, i have seen this erase tunes etc and damage it

ive seen my own car "reboot" when plugging in the hand controller, ie ECCS relay clicks and the engine looses idle for a split sec

anyone tried the Rb25 DJetro yet?

we are still yet to see one in production, i wonder if its legit ap eng or just a custom set tune

ie if you DATA INIT, what happens

weird, never realised it could do that. disconnected and reconnected myne hundreds of times with the engine running whilst messing around with datalogit and never had any issues. might stop doing that.....

Yeah ive heard my fuel pump re-prime when the ignition was on but the car not running when I disconnected my hand controller, can't be good..... Lol

I have an old version of the power FC so I thought it was

i do this all the time on my car and customers cars?

might stop too

    • It was roughly 3.5 hours.    car went in around 11:00 and I was done around 2:30 He did the initial runs, install the BC and then Nistune install and tune.  The best part was sitting in the lobby and hearing the skyline on full throttle at the dyno 😂😂
    • Glad it all went smooth. How long did the tuning process take?
    • Yeah that was kind of the same feedback my tuner gave me.  the boost tee is until I can sort out my plan for the electronic boost controller and what I’d get, where I’d mount the dash etc.  I’m happy with this until I can figure it out. Not a big fan of the A-pillar gauges. I’d like to get a clean install of the boost gauge - something digital like GFB.  Something like that might fit neatly where the ashtray is and look clean. I feel like replacing the OEM triple gauge is a bit extreme for a weekender like my skyline. And it’s not making crazy power to need all the additional sensors/gauges.
    • I'm about to swap my box to Tremec T56 Magnum F & initially thinking of re-using my DCS twin plate (can get it re centred for the bigger spline) but it's been called out the box will be noisy (rattle) as the clutch is unsprung.  So I'm doing as much research as possible. I'm not so worried about holding the power as I'll go the track version which on paper will hold the maybe 1000hp I make. It's the longevity I worry about. DCS told me they don't use a sprung centre as it's just something that can break. The uni clutch has a very complicated sprung centre. Any one had or heard about any issues with it failing? Thanks in advance.
    • Auto is at least 10% (from my real, actual experience with different torque converters and manual on the same setup) ~185rwkw at 11.6psi (peak!) is entirely what one would expect without a FMIC or anything else on the intake, it does bleed off towards the higher RPM so it's what, 9psi there? Note: There is nothing that can be done about this with a manual boost tee. If you want to hold it steady and gain more top end, well - You will need electronic boost control.....
