God_speed
During school zones when there are kids roaming about, anyone in the area should slow down. Particularly at the moment as the Police are cracking down something fierce on speeding drivers during school hours. I work near the North Sydney Oval on Miller St and have seen dozens of cars pulled over by the cops for doing about 50km/h or just over, so you've been warned! DECIM8
This Applies for the AM mostly on Pacific Highway Chatswood. They will pull you over a long way down close to artarmon. Its not hard to slow down for 40 zones I think its a great idea. God_speed
Must be blitzing in a couple of areas at the moment. Just over this last week they've been going mad here in Nth Syd. I know this subject's has been covered before, but a couple of things annoy me: * The way that some of the cops were flagging people down - almost as if they were criminals. If they're doing something like 55+ then fair enough, but not all were; * School zone signs that are hidden by trees, or not lit / do not have flashing lights, especially when there's lots of irrelevant signage in the surrounding area. Having said that, the cops generally do a great job and catching speeders in school zones is completely justified. sh@un
Not speeding related, but still useful advice: Don't turn left into Park St in Sydney city if you're heading south along George St- The bit of Park St in between George St and Pitt St eastbound has been turned into one big bus-lane, and the police have been waiting next to the kerb lately to catch people (you won't see them until you've already made most of the turn, then you're toast; $238 and 3 points). You can bet they'll get a few hectik-lappers on saturday nights with this one.
