went for a casual drive up devils elbow when i spotted 1 huge white blob in the middle of the road, luckily i wasnt really going fast but even still there was so much of the sh*t it made my car lock up. motorbike riders woulda prob been put on there ass by it.

gota feeling it might be the assholes in the house up there as it was real close to there joint and they prob dont like people going up there at night.

after hmmm ing wether to go slow and minimise splashing i decided to opt for the post hast to mt lofty bp where i raided the water buckets squigys and bought some tissues to mop it up but there was still a milky look over my car so raced back to town and learned a whole new appreciation for the high pressure hose. prob dumped about 20 bucks in that machine but the cars looking pretty good now,

only damage i got was side skirt where it joins inside the wheel arch there's a lil white line on the top where it joins but easily fixable and a bit of splash inside the wheel arches which is easy enough to paint black again. will be able to tell for sure tommorrow but it looks like ive pullled outa this 1 pretty clean.

still what da f i thought i was having a boring night, how sad is it when all you can think of doing is dumping paint on the road and hidding in the bushes while sniffing the rest

eh, the only time eagles is half decent is at 3am in the morning, it's too high speed to be doing any earlier as cops are usually all over the joint.

what time did u go up there, judging by the post around 1am? wouldnt expect much bs around then

hmm, the fact that the paint was in a big blob does sound intentional, normally when a truck drops paint it leaves a nice big trail.

if u still have any paint on your car, wax and grease remover works great. just use 1 cloth for the solvent and a clean dry cloth to dry over afterwards. :D

ive actually never seen a cops up there before, been attacked by them on the expressway once but thats it. how many of you guys been attacked by em? ive heard people say they go up there but never met anyone that seen them themselves.

i dont do high speed antics, dont like floggin my engine. just keep a steady lil pace, i go there more so to chill out, i like it up there cause its lit up easy to see n no hero's to bother me. well usually no hero's there.....

there used to be a lil vigilante group that went up there to abuse any sports cars. seen them while out with my bro, but they were jus funny :) lot of f words and not really nothing else to say guy wasnt even man enough to get out his car to talk to us. he drove off further up the road to yell his abuse when we walked up to see if he needed any help

i suspect it was a commo driver, there cars seem to be white alot :D

hows it going mitch surprised you wernt too drunk to remember musnt have been drinking enough

had a look today paint work looks fine cleanest its been since its first wash, just the lil touch on side skirt easy fixable, there's a bit of paint underneath car which im assuming will come off in time and in the guards. wheels have nice white marks in the grooves.

possibly i can get white smoke burnouts from the coloured tyres :)

i remember just after they opened the tunnel someone dumped diesel fuel most of the way on the downtrack, very dangerous. i suspect that was from one of the houses up there aswell. the paint could also be a disgruntled cyclist/bike rider there is a lot of them up there during the day.

ive never seen many cops up there, unless there is a lot of cars or when people keep going up and down all night. i usally cruise down when i head to town.

i did see a 180sx with a s15 front end doing donuts and drifting around the traffic islands up the top about 2-3 weeks ago.

Thanks for the heads up on the paint. I ride up there often.

Some 3-4 years ago the cops were all over Eagle. They tried to make us bikers "go away" at the request/complaints of the residents, but we remained persistent. We ended up reporting the residents in the area for tipping oil on the road, putting fish hooks on the guard rail (where we would sit), and they even went as far as standing in the middle of the road shining spotties at us as we rode up/down the road. We got the cops onto them and there was a 3 month monitoring of the area. The residents committed 42 traffic offences in that time, but motorcyclists were only report once! The cops wised up and left us alone. I really have not been bother by cops on that road in years.

I'm not surprised it'd be a resident(s) in the area. :P

I was up there around 10.30 last night and didn't see any paint, so must have been dumped after that. But i'm with dan, i only go up for a nice relaxing drive and to feel my car lap up the corners, don't go up to redline at every chance i get.

you mean the night before sleepr85? it was on sat night it happened, was on a straight pretty huge pile hard to miss. if i seen it half a second sooner woulda prob been able to stop in time.

as if the people living there did not think of cars n such going past at night when they moved in. good idea moving anywhere is to stake it out at night n see what its like, crazy neighbors etc :P

Sorry my bad. Went up there on monday night and didn't see anything. But i agree, who buys a house on an deserted old freeway and doesn't expect people to be taking it up for a bit of a burn sometimes. That's like buying a house next to HQ nightclub and then calling the cops every 2 minutes because the young hooligans next door have their music up too loud!!!

    • I steam cleaned my near new set of volk gtc wheels 14 years ago and farrkkked them lol. The clear coat cracked like spider webbing in several areas. Lesson learnt don't do that. 😭
    • If you don't touch the CAS, then you're fine.
    • Yeah, my moulds and seals are 32 years old now. I think I will continue to not use a pressure washer on it.
    • I hear the old "I'd never use a pressure washer on my motorbike" BS in the dirtbike community too.  The only people that have had a problem from using a pressure washer on anything are the people that aren't using them properly.  If you hold the wand any more than 45 cms away from pretty much anything (radiators, wiring connectors, paint, etc) you aren't going to cause any damage.  We've had detailers wreck moulds and seals on cars at work before and the only reason why is they held the pressure washer too close and on the one spot for too long.  If you have 5% more brain power than a detailer then you know not to not do that and you'll never have a problem.
    • I'm pretty much healed up post surgery so I spent another almost full day out in the shed re-arranging everything to make room for all of the shit that I've taken off the car.  I need to get everything off the floor and away from the car for when I start making a massive mess stripping off the remaining body deadener and then for the the painting process.  Almost got the shed to a point now where I feel I can actually start working on the car again (clean shed clean mind or something!).  Almost 11 years of accumulated car parts, building supplies, tools, junk, etc have taken a long time to get in some sort of order again!  Most stuff is now boxed up and in the back shed if it's not car related.  Most people would still be horrified walking into my shed but it's significantly better than it was before!   For those that saw my separate post the other day, yeah I ordered one.... This version- I convinced myself to stop being a clown, wake up to yourself and realise it will take you 5 weeks to make one by which stage you're over working on the car again...  Maybe I am getting on top of my "mental ailments" and making smarter choices.... $1450 delivered which will take my miserable half-dutch arse a few days to get over having spent that much!  If I don't have a use for it straight away after my car is off it I might even see if there is a "rental market" for them.  See if anyone wants to hire it for a period of time.  $25 a week or something like that.  I'll worry about that when my car is actually ready to come off it though as that might be a while away!! There's now no excuses now for not ending up with an underside you could eat off! Away for kids sport the next few weekends so hopefully can get the rotisserie assembled ready to go for the car to go straight on it the next available weekend.
