Hello all,

Currently have a problem and was wondering what would be the best choice.

On my R32 GTST i have;

Rear:

235/45/r17 on 9inch +30 rims.

With this setup, the tyres are slightly stretched on rims which slightly stick outside the guards (-0.5~ camber (adjustable camber bushes))

I was planning on putting on some 245/40's or 255/40's but most likely they would not fit under the guards of the gtst..

Problem is, id like more traction and to lower the car.

With the stretched tyres, ive noticed a loss of traction and if i lower the car the rims/tyres wont fit without alot of camber/stretch.

So, my other option is to get a pair of 8inch +30 rims

and fit either 225/45's or 235/45's

225/45's on 8inch

235/45's on 8inch

The 235's also seem to stick out a bit..which would be the maximum size for a 8inch rim

Finally;

Would it be better to;

1. Stay with the 235/45's stretched onto 9inch rims?

2. Try and fit 245/40's onto 9inch rims (anyone done this before on a gtst?)

3. Use 225/45's onto 8inch rims

4. Use 235/45's onto 8inch rims

As my car will be tuned for 210kw~ atw, id prefer to have a decent amount of traction for track days etc

Any help would be great :(

Cheers

Patrick

Anyone happen to have any pictures of +30 9inch with these tyres?

Cheers

definatly stick with the 9's, but as for width wait till u lower it and see how much room u have

obviously a wider tire of the same make/model is going to be provide more grip, but a better tire in the same size will also offer more grip. so u should look into getting quality tire, the adrenalin's are good, but for that bit extra u cant go past the RE01-R's imho they are the best all round tire u can get (st/motorkana obviosly not suited to full on track use)

cheers for info,

at the moment, if i have a full car load, the 9inch's scrub on the lip over bumps.

Once the lip is rolled, that should gain me another 10mm's, but im concerned whether that will be enough room for the 245/40's..

Spoke to a tyre/suspension workshop today and he suggested that the 9inch with 245/40's wont fit due to the +30 offset.

His opinion was to go 235/45's (same as my front wheels) so that way i can rotate them to minimize wear...

Anyone have 245/40's on a 9inch +30 rim? (ie. R33 GTR rims on a r32 gtst)

Thanks..

i ran 255/45's on some 17x9.5 +38's for a while, technically speaking they should sit close to where a 245 on a 17x9 +30 should. with a good guard roll you shouldnt have issues with a 245/45 on a +30, but it will depend on how good the roll is and what camber u are running.
