And I've actually heard from a friend who did that setup on his VS V8 commy that it can be beneficial as the air that passes through the turbo is alot cooler when it goes through since its got that extra distance to travel. Not too sure on the validity of this point but it kinda makes sense...
How does it defeat the purpose? The car is still turbocharged...

well, the idea of a turbo charger and heat, is so the exhaust gases are hot and "excited" and spool the turbine a lot faster than the much cooler low flow of air at the back of the car.

The response out of one of those setups would be terrible. Plus they have a hell of a lot more pipe distance to cause leak problems.

Im buying a 6boost manifold atm with a gt35R (0.82) atm and will be expecting full boost around 4300, a little laggy for the rb25 but i am planning to convert to a rb30 down the track so its not a bad option, if you want in a few weeks when its installed up i'll let you know how it is on the street

Ive read everyones comments, aswell as researched the idea and the conclusion will be

a.] GT3540R w/ 0.82

or

b.] GT3037R w/ 0.63

ive read alot about these turbos on different setups and depending on what Im gonna pursue ill will pick the turbo that will suit it.

It'll only leak at the joins but every car has that.

As for the cooler air flow causing lag, we're talking about mostly V8's that do this setup not skylines. Obviously its dumb to set it up on a skyline but you wouldn't need to. A big v8 needs the lag so it doesn't smash tyres. Get the v8 going then boost, can't beat that.

None of that makes any sense at all

I has a dream!!

Im gonna buy a stock turbo and replace my rear muffler with it!!

Rb25dett baby yeah!!!

would surely make 11ty million killer wasps at 35rpm and then ill use one of those ebay electric superchargers to really get it going down low

*imagines pipe work needed to run a single AFM with a turbo in the stock spot, one at the rear, 2 intercoolers while using PVC for piping*

Do you think Ill win a Engineering award at Autosalon?

P.s Im not drunk

Btw, Ive concucted a flange to attack my Stock RB25 turbo to my ride on mower , ill be using a custom intercooler w/ no BoV, hopefully producing some mower dose action. I got the idea of a Youtube vid of a guy doin it, should be fun. I hope i dont blow up the engine as its gonna be 100% FF.

I love the fact that that a guy with the initial thought that he would high mount a stock turbo thinks he has the skill / money to turbo his ride on with a custom cooler!!! ahahaha
