Help Me Find Wheels To Clear My New Brakes

Recommended Posts

hey dudes,

I have just fitted 296mm gtr rotors and calipers to my car and my wheels will not fit over the brakes. the offset it right its just that the wheel has thick spokes and will not clear the caliper.

heres the problem...

my hubs are 4 stud... i have redrilled the rotors to fit the hubs,

also going 5 stud is not an option.

I really need either of the following.

1. new set of wheels that will clear the callipers that are 4x114.3 in 8" and 9"

2. a pair of lace 4x114.3 that match mine that Will clear the brakes

OR is there someone that has a set of koya driftek's that would be willing to let me try one of their wheels on my car to see if they would clear the brakes? as i a, looking at getting a set of these if they will fit.

any help would be appreciated

Honestly - i'd get in touch with Rampant Performance - he is the wheel KING.

Has ooooddles of stuff in stock all the time, if not Aaron will think of something that will work and be horn!

Looked after many a SAU-Vic member, being he is one as well

www.rampant.net.au

wow thanks for the quick heads up! i will give him a go

still keen to see it a driftek will fit over the combo. does anyone know of a place that sells them in melb?

cheers

    • It sounds like the perfect time to do easier tasks like, work out how to pull the headlights fully apart, clean them inside and out, and make them meticulous... Or lose all the clips, f**k up polishing the lenses, and get frustrated with that job while you can't do bigger more fun ones and wind up with no usable headlights...   I mean... What?! 😛
    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lipomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, more time to contemplate rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
