Hey Guys,

When I put the clutch to friction point and the car begins to move without accelerating the car begins to shutter and you can feel it underneath the car.

It usually happens when the car is cold and warming up. Its not a problem because the car drives perfect all the time just abit strange that the car has this shutter which seems to be either the clutch or the gearbox.

Was just wondering if any members have encountered something like this with their cars and see if they have found a fix.

Look forward to hear your thoughts and opinions

Sounds like clutch to me. The wifes EH is doing it atm(I know its an excellent comparison) and I hope it doesnt get any worse as it has on her car only when going to take off. I was told its the clutch by my mechanic.

How olds your clutch and do u give it a workout.

Bloody clutches !!!!!!! my twin plate is starting to make funny noises too......

does it feel like the car is wobbling side to side?

I had similar problem with my old factory clutch. Had a new clutch put in + flywheel machined etc and it disappeared

I think its related to an unbalanced flywheel but i could be wrong..

I dont think my clutch has been changed since the car was new. So I have a 96 model so that 12 years!!

Not to bad.

I treat the car pretty well I dont thrash it or anything.

May just get myself a heavy duty organic if I ever decide to modify my car in the future. Pretty stock at the moment except for an exhaust but may just do a couple things to get a bit more power.

Probs do a compression test first to see if the 102,000km engine can handle some extra grunt dont want to blow the engine.

Im sure a compression test will show all is good  .

As long as you have a good tuner the old girl will take a licking and keep on ticking.

I have a mate with over 400rwhp(Garrett 35/40) on a stock motor and has been running his setup for almost two years now without a problem. He always get his tuned by Matty SPRY from PITTS though who is a pretty well renowned tuner though.

Oh and thats with a powerfc :P .

Get a heavy duty clutch and the flywheel machined and then u will be set for any future mods.

I am having a very similiar problem at the moment. If the shutter is there when you take off and then goes away it is most likely your Center bearing. We are changing mine this week. Put it on the hoise yesterday and you could move it around. There was no tention on it at all. Hope this helps
