Fuel Light Constantly On! :s

Hey all! was wondering if i could please get someones opinion on why my fuel light would constantly be on? i've been having issues with it for the past 2 weeks since i changed the bulb over. I had never seen the warning light 'on' before, even at almost empty and decided to change the bulb. but now its always 'on' even when it's clear that i have a full tank of petrol. I'd prefer to fix the problem myself as I'd rather not take it to mechanics or an auto electrician. Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated. Thanx!

so you replaced it because it was burnt out prior to you noticing it being always on? or was the old bulb fine?

could be that the thing in your tank that reads level maybe stuck and thinks that its always empty.

Could be a hole in the float.

or there is an earth shorting on the body from the level sender - its a varaiable earth style switch

Thanks for the quick replies! The old bulb was burnt out and since replacing the bulb, its constantly been on. Will suss it out tomorrow. Thanks again for the tips

Did you repalce the bulb with an LED? They stay on constantly with the fuel light due to the way current is always passing through the system.

Hey there dan, yea just realised thats why it was constantly on lol i feel like an idiot but at least it was something as simple as changing it to a non-led thanx for that though!
