R35 Gt-r Order In Us Was Canceled Due To Fitment Of Electronic Data Recorder.

Link to full story but a bit of the story is below.

A Florida man named Scott Weires has canceled the order for his long-awaited Nissan GT-R. Why? It's not that he was disappointed in the car's performance credentials, far from it. The problem is that the GT-R is equipped with a 'black box', similar in theory to the kind found on airplanes to help determine what went wrong in case of an accident or breakdown. By the end of 2012, car buyers won't have a choice as to whether their new car is equipped with a 'black box,' or Electronic Data Recorder -- they will be federally mandated to carry one. These devices track information that could be useful to the manufacturer in determining exactly what is, or has been, going on with a car. There are a few worries, though, that warranty claims could be denied if the automaker, Nissan in this case, deems that the car was being raced or abused in some way or by police or lawyers to determine culpability. Nissan's GT-R carries an on-board recorder that keeps track of the past few day's worth of driving and cannot be disabled. In the case of Scott Weires, an attorney no less, that was enough to look elsewhere. Would it be for you?

Yeah you wouldnt like it if you were going a little over the speed limit, hit some oil, spun off the road and Killed someone -

The Crash investigators would determine you were speeding thru the black box, the media would sensationalise it and say you were doing 300 km/h in a 300 km/h supercar, the government would probably ban it, and you would be thrown in jail for killing someone.

They're limited to 180 Kph so the media can't claim 300 Kph ;-)

    • enjoy the surge of a turbo, it's fun and part of the appeal of these engines. however I always believed that the torque was flat or diminished directly after the spool so that what comes after is of less interest. I am not a specialist in turbo engines, far from it, but to my great surprise I discovered engines whose torque increases after spooling and the pressure (psi) increases  with the revs. like the curves that I post the cams can play a role in this and the use of a boost control also. Can we limit the psi during spooling and increase the boost level with the revs or this type of curve is unpredictable. in other words, can I create this crescendo of torque after spooling voluntarily on any engine, with the right size turbo etc here are the examples
    • Welcome.  There are many similarities and some key differences between the 2. Plenty of information on both in this forum. I hope you find the information you seek.
    • hello everyone, an RB26, or RB25 project in the medium long term. I don't know much about this engine or turbo engines in general, I'm here to understand and gain knowledge. I have specific objectives for a project
