Hi guys,

after consultation to day with centerline suspention i have being advised not to go with my planned brake set up (r33 gts-t calipers f and r plus slotted disc) and go for a full race set up (manly bigger disc).

just wondering what you guys are useing, were u got them and how much you payed.

the car is a 89 r32 gts 4dr and im thinking of 6 pot front 4 pot rear set up with brake bias adj

Still, it is going to be an NA car, i expect lightend? So you will have about 200hp at the wheels if you are lucky. So i would suggest some R34 GTT brakes will work fine. Be careful using the term race car....i suspect your total budget will be doubled by the cost of race braks alone. Even if you go for premium stret brakes i suspect the 6-10k is more then tiy should spend considering the lap times the car will be doing

yes i plan to be lightended as much as poserple.

and year looking at the endless option for the front is the same amount i was planing to spend on suspention rims tyers. ($8000).

can you tell me more about the GTT brakes please

R34 GTT calipers are 4 pot and run a 310mm rotor, only catch is you hae to drill out your hub to bolt up the caliper. Shoudl be plenty of rotor for your GTS, or even stiuck with teh std caliper, grab some DBA 5000 GTR 324mm rotors and grab some adaptors tat allow you to run the rotor. Much more in line with the straighline performance and weight the car will have

what do you mean by drill out hub are you refering to redrill from a 4 stud to 5 stud? or the mounting bolt holes are of the wrong diamiter.

standard gtr fronts that asll you need

yea thats an option maby 33 or 34 as 32 would be exspencive and hard to find.

plus can some one tell me how much a r32 gts weighs centerline think 1500kg but im think more of 1200kg fully loaded not lightend and also how much people have taken out in term of wight or even the weight of thier car if they know it

It's more than 1200kg's fully loaded, I think the dry weight is around 1280kg's or so, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with the other's, no need for such big brakes. I'd just adapt your stock ones to run a 324mm dic with somehting like the stage 1 kit in the link.

My R32 rallycar weighs 1240kg and has seen a lot of track use in the time I have owned it.

I run semi-slick track tyres and due to the 'challenged' top speed of the N/A I'm usually the last of the late brakers in the turns. So basically I give the brakes Sh#*.

First most important thing is good quality, fresh brake fluid. I run dot 5.1 and I ensure that the fluid is pretty new before track events.

My front brakes are R33 GTS25 2 pot calipers & disks. (NZ$180) Straight bolt on, just remove the stone guards to clear the slightly bigger disks. Pads are Lucas. (NZ $70)

Rears are stock R32 GTS with the same pads.

I have never had any brake fade from these and find them good for all competion use.

Just do what your were planning or 324mm rotors with spaced calipers as mentioned many times before. I have 280rwkw in a street gtr and the spaced calipers stops it fine. In a gts you wouldn't hardly have to use the brakes with a good susp setup.

If your planning to spend $8k on susp and brakes. Just sell the gts and buy a gtr with a few mods for $15k and lap 10 seconds a lap faster than you ever will in the gts with all the mods in the world. Building a track gts is a waste of money IMO and so slow. So many better cars could be bought for the $ you plan on spending.

      Nope, still smaller rear, put on the 4inch exhaust and picked up power everywhere, ended up just shy of 800rwhp.   Didn't seem to be hitting any walls either, so perhaps could have pushed for more but all maybes and the fish that got away etc etc.

      Ha ha ha, mine loves to spend, all on the dogs (they're our kids, and her spending would likely rival that of some people raising children!) the only benefit is, her spending is tax deductible as she runs a business in the dog industry 😛 The above all means she can spend race car budget quicker than I can. 😛 That and a lot of the things I want are very expensive, and I can be a bit "you want how much for that?!" And at other times overly impulsive. Or I start the w days of research, get to day 1.5 and get really annoyed that no one will advertise actual specifics and it's just marketting BS and I go "well, now I don't want anything to do with that now!" Also I hate paying lots of money for something I can make from $50 in materials. Then I get the shits halfway through making things and wonder why others who just buy parts have more fun... 😛

      Their 240Z with the RB26 would be a real nice thing to have in a garage to come out for an occasional weekend cruise It's such a cool thing in so many ways Sadly, we have a blue 240Z shell that I walk past every day, just sitting outside a shed at work, it has been slowly disintegrating and falling apart into the ground for the last few years, the owner cannot be found, and I am unable to "claim it" I've been told by work and the RMS, the rust in the body is excessive though, and it has had most of the salvageable stuff, like panels, trim and switch gear stripped off it over the last year or two, work keeps threatening to put it in one of our metal scrap bins, I wish they did though, as it makes Mark sad walking past it
