Does having an intercooler behind your front bar effect the cars crumple zone?

Could having an intercooler affect the normal working operation of airbags?

Just curious and looking for some clarification.

Nope. For the airbag to go off it has to be a decent accident, ie. it won't go off from a slight prang. Therefore for the accident to be quite major, the intercooler will be destroyed either way if it's a frontal impact. In the R33, the sensor for the airbag is underneath the centre compartment.

i know that there is a air bag box under the center console but arnt there 3 or 4 sensors along the front of the car one in front of the passenger and 2 in front of the driver and i am not shore where the other one is.

but the intercooler wont make any difference to the operation of the air bags.
