Hey guys, was just curious to know how many people have had a kit fitted and sprayed to their cars, how long they took for each person individually and how long on average you think it takes just so i know what im in for.

I have to personally fitted a new: eyelids, a/m hood, a/m front bumper, side skirts and rear, new spoiler and techincally that should be it. want to know times for that.

Then i have a seperate question, im actually adding wider fenders too, front AND back! So thats probs where the time spent will be on the car. i know the figures above will be thrown out the window, but if on a more specific topic, has anyone had a bodykit fabricated to their car that takes longer than a "standad" kit as i should put it.

Either times for a A/M kit or a custom kit would be helpful, where you got it done and how much it cost would be a bonus.

Thanks very much i hope to hear from anyone soon!

Sincerely, josh.

It really does depend on the workshop, their skill level and how much work they've got at the time, and also whether the parts used came from a good mould and how much, if any, customisation is needed for the pieces to fit.

For eg. My old R33 I did each bodykit piece in stages rather than all at the same time, more due to availability of the parts I wanted as I mixed and matched kit pieces.

Frontbar took 4 days for a paint and fit, sideskirts went on a week later as they had to make them from the mould as none were in stock rear bar two weeks later as I finally decided which one I wanted.

At all times I ordered the piece, they painted it and I drove to the shop to get it fitted, I had an old spoiler I removed so they could paint match the pieces without needing my car there. Painting would take about 3-4days, then I could come in get it fitted on the same day

To do what you want with custom fenders, I'm guessing the front fenders will be a complete replacement item and the rear fenders would be grafted on top of the standard rear? But you'll definitely have to leave your car with them

I'd have a search in your state's sub forum for reputable workshops that others in your area have used and start a thread in there if you can't find what you're searching for,

Good luck! What bodykit pieces are you using, is the widebody fenders custom, like gt500 style?

Bomex Frotn bar sides and rear but Cross Factory Front pumped and rear guards with a GTR spoiler instead of GTT factory...hopefully it looks good..(if they can do it) otherwise ill have to leave it for now while i buy a set of GTR body panels to fit to the wide fenders. And i don't know if they graft over the old paenls for rear i think it might need to be cut n welded into place :S but thats another hassel im gonan hav to find out...gotta do it befor ei head off in novemeber an di have licence suspension for last 3 months so im looking forward to driving cept...parts will com round the time i get lience back..hence the initial question...argh so disapointed haha things not looking too good but i trust things will eventually work out for the car :D
