I'm sure DSG's are awesome (and I know they sound shit hot on upshifts) but I like having a clutch pedal.

Then again, I also hate (well, not hate but rather like not having in certain cars/situations) power steering and power assisted brakes.

Each to their own. I don't want to cut laps n'th degrees faster, I want to have fun and drive like a hooligan which is easier in a proper manual.

Thread resurrection: a couple of years on, have the DCT boxes been reliable for you guys? I'm thinking of getting something like a Polo GTi as my next daily driver (once I get sick of the XR5) but I'd like to know whether the dual clutch boxes have been reliable or not?

My Girlfriend has one. Its a nice gearbox, drives like an auto when in drive, and is lots of fun in sport.

Personally, I couldnt live with it cause I hate autos and its a bit to much like an auto for me, but absoloutly cant fault the gearbox.

For a daily but its great, I drive it when I cant be bothered driving around with my button clutch haha

No one's mentioned the Ford Fiesta, tiny cheap POS but it has an automatically shifting dual clutch 6 speed manual.

Interesting you call them a POS. Have you driven one? You'll do hard to find a more fun car for the money. A seriously good bit of kit, even if it is FWD.

Anyone had first hand experience with the EvoX box? I've read they are decent from factory but a tune touchup and they are hard to fault especially on the track.

I dropped in to my local dealer but the only way i could test 1 was if i ordered 1 in....pfft

I have, it feels uncomfortable and awkward on the road, everything you touch is made of cheap hollow plastic and resetting the clutch is a massive pain in the arse job(Not something the owner is likely to encounter but still)
