ECIR has been booked for a private day on Friday 31st October. Main aim is for the Production Sports Association to have an end of year event to thank their supporters.

There will be spare spots available and we need to get the numbers to break even on the day.

So all types of car are welcome.

If openwheelers turn up we will have to make separate groups.

Otherwise you will be able to go out when and as you like.

No 20 minutes on then 60 minutes off as in ARDC days.

Passenger rides are permitted so a chance to thank those who have helped.

Also an ideal day to sort out a car as there will be no lost time between tweaks to forget what it was like.

Seat belts and helmets / clothing to Supersprint requirements for Drivers and passengers.

L2S license as a minimum for Drivers.

Road cars to Supersprint standards also so effectively as they are.

We will have an Ambulance and a couple of recovery vehicles but no flaggies, just spotters with radios.

No limit on visitors and passengers, They will sign a form if going out but no charge for them.

Garages and pit lane available.

Gourmet sandwich lunch, tea, coffee, soft drinks available for $15 head. BYO after drinks if needed.

I need numbers of people taking part in that lunch.

Costs, Well , we have to cover the ARDC bill which is close to $10K so if we get 40 cars that’s $250 /car or if we get to what I think is the maximum for a clear go then 50 cars = $200 each.

We will initially ask for the $250 then refund on the day if we get the 50 cars.

I need an indication of who might be coming ASAP as we need to be sure we can cover the bill.

Please feel free to send this email on to anyone you think is suitable for such a day.

I will be Clerk of Course so I can assure you of the minimum of rules to make it a great day.

The entry form is attached and most details are on it.

I will have some indemnity forms at the track on the day so each driver will complete one, present their CAMS license and collect an armband to show the controller as you approach pit exit.

Passengers will fill in a similar form and collect a different coloured armband. They will also show this as the car exits pit lane.

Fatz and I are going

This is not organised by me. Just thought a few might be interested. Also if they get a total of 50 drivers the price drops to $200.

I believe there only a few spots left so it will almost certainly be $200 for the day.

Yeah $95 bux for a cams license for the year.

This day would probably not be suitable for anyone who has not done a club track day before.

Also be prepared for about $200 worth of fuel. These open days you can easily do 100's of laps which is tough on the car.

Either way its a steal for $200 and a good excuse to take a day off work.

I did a day a couple years ago on OP South with Aaron McGill and his race team. They took their sponsers out and he had an invite to other guys, and I was one. I was on the track with about 5 V8 lites....at first I was scared but after a while you can hear them coming and just know to get out of their way haha

I already have the friday off - Will see how I go with funds

anyone had much experience in one of these days? it sounds like it would get a bit sloppy...with all those cars out there.

Come down for a free joy ride.

You find that at the start of the day you have alot of cars on the track. A few hours in there are hardly any cars on the track.

$200 Bargin! I will try and get a spot last minute and hope to god its forecast to rain!!!!!

Old school flash back 2002, $199 motor concept days, Oz and Fatz rain dance for a week to have the heaven’s open up. 3 tanks of fuel and 200 laps later fatz and oz have just torn up the best skid pan in the world by ourselves!

Fatz,

Almost as good as the fathersday L2S day when some idiot lost his load just before lunch, 4 schooners later we are back on the track doing our best lap times of the day.

No cash has left my hands yet, Need some stuff done to the car and watching for the weather, I wont run at a 30Deg + day.

Bonks, will pop out at a minimum, but I am planning to drive.

    • Welcome!  How long have you had it? And what colour is it?
    • "CAD" version 1.0 It will have a 15mm lip around the top for 6 × 5 or 6mm nutserts and fixtures (two on each of the three straight edges), and some pinch weld on any exposed edges, it has three mounting points, one of the power steering reservoir bolts, and two on the rad support, my 120mm hole saw will make short work of hole for the silicone joiner, with ample room for some pinch weld  I've also got enough Carbuilders "peel and stick" heat shield to cover the outside of it at the coolant expansion tank and on the engine side, as pictured, and internally on the lid and where the fuse box is, I've also got some thin, about 3mm, black 3M single sided sticky foam stuff that was left over after sealing some door drafts at home to help seal the lid As for the shape, it "sort of" matches the shape of the fuse box, so shouldn't look to "out of place" The lower area and hole for the intake will need pinch weld with a balloon on it to fully seal the hole and bottom of it, that will happen after it has been fabricated so I know exactly what size is required  Filter service has been trialed,  and so far it was a simple process  Just need to get some alloy, and then head into work to use the guillotine and break press in the workshop Hopefully it should be sorted in a week or two Guestimated outlay will be under a $50 for the stuff I don't have on hand (alloy, 6mm nutserts, the pinch weld, and wrinkle paint) Disclaimer: That's what the "voices in my head" are telling me how the filter box should end up getting done......lets see if they know what they are talking about
    • Have been polishing up the trailer rims as they had been sitting in the shed for a few years and are really in need of some love. This was after a couple of passes with chrome polish - coming up quite well ✅ .
    • Welcome aboard! Is your Skyline auto or manual? I'm assuming manual. Does it have any mods done yet?
    • Hey mate, the brown and grey plugs would usually go to the TPS, brown one goes on the bottom connector and grey is the top but isn't used unless the car is auto, your TPS looks different to mine though I've got a series 2 engine.
