Not too bad... I've partway taken the dash out... I started with removing the surround for the gear knob, which just clips in... Then there are 2 or 4 screws under the stereo... You'd also find it easier to remove the steering wheel shroud (MAYBE?!?) they are just screws underneath... The rest of the dash should be clips...

You're best off taking it to a place that specialises in fixing gauges. There's a place in Sydney called Truspeed that does it, not sure if there's anything similar in Melbourne but there probably is. Shouldn't cost more than $50 or so.

metbluegtst how do u know u r odo hasnt been wound back ? i dont think there is an import that hasnt . even local cars have been wound back .

wld 747 easy to take the cluster out but u will stuff it up if u try o fix the odo take it to an instrument specialist .

u dont have to take the steering column shroud of u can pull it out with out taking that off .

1st u take the ashtray out , then 2 ( i think ) screws that hold the stereo cluster suround and another 2 above the steering column the rest is held in by clips but double check that there is not any more screws . once u pull that off( u have to undo the electrical plugs ) then u 'll see the 4 screws that hold the cluster in take them out , pull the cluster out a little undo the plugs at the back (3or 4 i think )then u should be able to pull it out , u have to rigle it a bit and find the best side to take it out , i think to the left of the steering .

odo problems are very common with imports cause they turn them back and most times they are a bit rough and stuff the gears up . never believe the k's on the odos of imports , i dont how can u when u see a 95 gtr with 10,000 k's on the odo that was at powerplay in sydney a few weeks ago , a v -spec .

My odometer decided to pack it in just after i got the car. Less than 1K after in fact. So i took it straight back to the importer to deal with it. Cost at all haha. My VL that has been in the family since brand new has also had odometer dramas. It stopped at 267xxx quite a few years back. Hell, it should be well on it's way to a million by now lol.
