Hello!

I got a R33 automatic 1997.

I changed the gearbox 3 weeks ago after the old one wouldnt go to 3rd or 4th gear. The new used one got put in and i used Redline D4 transfluid. heres the problem..

When i put the gear in D i goes with no prob up to 2nd gear then it stops there and if i let go of the gaspedal from 3k rpm to 2k rpm the engine doesnt slow the car down it just falls to 1k rpm, but if i put the gear in 2nd it stays at 3k rpm and when i let go of the gaspedal it brakes the engine slowing it down. had this simtems on other gearbox to but i could go in 3rd i think and about 3.5k rpms it slipted but maintained speed. so im wondering could this be the A/T ecu or the Main ECU in the car or did i get a faulty Gearbox??. And if so any knowes were to get spare parts couse here in sweden we aint got them, and iv even called some ppl in Uk but they didnt have this A/T ecu only the Main ECU for A/T R33.

Well sry for the english. I aprichiate any awnesers and help

It certainly does sound TCU related.

Someone with an R33 will have to confirm for you that it's a separate TCU and not one with the ECU.

ECU = engine control unit

TCU = transmission control unit

Yea. I´v been trying to find some one in Sweden near me with a A/T R33 but its hard i think heres only about 5 A/T r33 rolling the streets, Well in first hand ill check the TCU and then The ECU couse the ECU has 3 outputs for the TCU so maybe its that.

hey i wish u were someway here or at list same country cos i need to know how much it cost to have it done cos i have to get my transmission changed for the same reason my third gear is locked out and i cant use D i'm only using secound gear but how long can i use secound b4 i f*&% up
