hey everyone,

i'm kind of new here and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out.

a lot of people have been having their cars impounded around the Bankstown area recently due to a helluva a lot of speeding.

as a kind of introduction, i was wondering if anyone could tell me:

-what type of car they drive

-their feelings on 'hoons'. are they making decent car lovers and drivers look bad?

-feelings on the recent street racing laws?

-are hoons just a stereotype made up by authorities?

-is anyone a reformed hoon? if thats possible

i would love to hear people's experiences for an assignment i am doing, and im not quite sure where to turn. I'd really like to hear the opinions of actual car lovers themselves, not experts but people with a genuine passion for motor sports.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

and my dodgy little nissan cannot live up to half the awesome cars i have seen here :O

xx

SAU:NSW doesn't talk to the press... anymore...

That being the case, if you REALLY are doing an assignment and want an A+, we have a drift day on Monday at Oran Park. I suggest you come and talk to the amatuer drifters who are taking to the track where it belongs

Im Steve, and im a reformed hoon *golf clap in background*

Seriously though if you want to know more come to a club event.

SAUNSW doesnt speak to press without exec approval. What id suggest, is that you send me a PM and ill get back to you.

come to hills cruise in the NSW events section, we all friendly up here, very responsible, ages from 18-50ish i guess, and if your genuwine we'll be glad to help you out,,,,,, if your media well mabey you could watch us behave responsibly before we set out on our cruise, although we probably will just ignore you if you ACA or today tonight.

Also when you drive around in a car like a skyline you see alot of things, like realising that a "hoon" can be any age, male or female, gay or straight, anglo, wog, asian, black, sick, healty, skinny, fat, P-plater, 60 years old, rich, poor, excel, ferrari, can be highly modified or stock standard..... get what i'm saying???

And actually i see alot more 4wd's and SUV's trying to race and drag and driving like cocks than the typical stereotype of a p plater in a honda integra or someone in a supra or a skyline...

anyway is you assignment for uni or school????? not to mention that its beginning of school hollidays (why would a school student do an assignment when only 1 week into holls), uni only has 7 weeks to go lol silly silly ACA

Anyway come to an official SAU meet, you'll be surprised, I was at my first time

ps: can Ray Martin come out for this one, I miss his hair

I smell bacon :P

Imports get targeted by thieves and the police and now media scrutiny will only compound the problems already faced by import drivers.

If you really want to know what fellow import drivers go through, I'd suggest look here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sa...s-only-f56.html

Buy an import and see how it really feels. Don't take our word for it. See for yourself.

P.S. Your investigative journalism sux balls... Grow some and actually try the import scene and then report. Don't try and cloud and twist it further.

This looks real suspect.

If your trying to do an assignment for the Traffic Offenders Program, please by all means join the Club at one of their days out. But when you post like this on the forum, it does give us a suspicious note to your enquiry.

You want to here it first hand? Go down to the club meets.

Im from Bankstown myself. And i would be more then welcome to give you information, but if its through the forum then no. Cant trust media these days, they take anything and turn it around on you. And imports already have a certain amount of heat on them, and thats why everyone (on SAU) is behaving themselves, unlike other clubs.

If you are a journalist, speak to the Club Executives.

And if your genuine, good luck bruh.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
