I went last night with my mates, 3 of us completed the 1kg challenge.. I smashed it in and came first, my wee little mate also smashed it in - we went the 1kg rumps.. other mate copped out and went the 1kg T-bone (/fail) and felt peer pressured to finish after we smashed it in. He nearly yakked all over the table, the waiter was in hysterics and I feel sorry for his mrs and the taxi driver :(

I'm not faring too badly but at this point in time, I can't even contemplate doing it again!

But my photo is now on the wall lol :)

Nice work "smashing it in" bubba :D

bubba, what does the 1kg challenge entail?

I know outback jacks was like 1kg meat and 1 kg sides...so really it was 2kg

Outback jacks was pretty much 1kg UNTENDERIZED meat..

Hippo Creek is 1kg mouth-watering meat and probably 200-400gms of sides.. the salad is really small.. and chips or baked potato isnt too big either..

1kg steak plus whatever is on the plate, I just asked for salad (there was a LOT of salad but it helped break up the monotony of meat!).

The guy that got the T-bone, had the bigass potato and stuff which is good because that bone in his steak weighed probably 400g.. fuckin' softcock! It was while attempting to finish the potato at the end that he nearly barfed all over the table :(

Sorry mates but I'm afraid I have to pull out of this one.. My good mate's having a farewell gathering on the same night as he is leaving for his home country for good..

Real sorry to everyone.. I know the date was set to my convenience and all but im truly sorry and I hope we can all go for another steak night again soon..

Regards,

Bernard

P.S

Dan please check your PM..

Thank you to all those who attended. Let us all make sure we never become accountants :)

Hahahahahaha

Was a good night... with the most delicious meat in the world (Perth)!!

    • Actually, ethanol has probably never been cheaper, on a tax free basis, than petrol. With fuel excise being what it is, and only being levied on the hydocarbon component, not the ethanol component, and ethanol for non-drinking purposes not being subject to liquor excise - E85 was cheaper, but not because the combustible liquid itself was particularly cheaper.
    • Maybe? If changing the cat to a higher flowing cat, caused the turbo to spool more quickly, and those areas of the map had not been tuned for the boost level it is now seeing, then yes you would need a re-tune. How dangerous it is running without the updated tune would depend on how far out the tune is with the now higher boost levels, how the engine protection has been setup, is the ECU compensating with a wideband sensor, is the boost control closed loop blah blah million other things... But yeah having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if changing out the cat for a high flow, in say a full 3" exhaust, made no noticeable difference at all.
    • Ah yep. I asked a auto electrician about getting a cheap rebuilt alternator vs a new one. He also said he used to it back in the day but it ended up costing similar to what a new one would and recommended getting a new one,.
    • Ah, to clarify if the car has already been tuned and has been modified and you want to go from a oem cat to a 100 cell or decat or vice versa. Are you saying that the car doesn't need to be tuned after a cat change if it's already been tuned?
    • This has been covered a bazillion times but google wet boiling point vs dry. Motul is only good when it's fresh, once it absorbs moisture it gets pretty average very quickly. So as above, make sure you change it if you're going racing. I run the Endless brake fluid in mind, but only because a mate is a distributor and it's cheap. It's not quite as good as SRF but I'm running 380mm rotors on a Skyline so it's not like they get hot.
