yeah mate. same sort of thing on my 32. its wasn't wired from factory to act as a condensor fan but as an aid to help with radiator temps. if you have a test light just check to see if you have power on one wire and an earth on the other when the a/c is turned on. if you have then the fan is stuffed. if you don't then it will only come on when temps get to hot. there is a switch on the bottom of the radiator, if you bridge the harness side not the switch side you can make it run when ignition is on. hope this helps.

it comes on when water temp reaches 95 deg and switches off at 91 deg, whether AC is on or not. I think it also swtiches with a temp sender in the AC condensor, but it will seldom switch on outside summer months.

Your AC air temp would be related to something else, re-gas etc.
