Hi-- The rear boot spoiler on my two door 34 gtt has a bit of movement in it. I checked the nuts that secure it and there tight. Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a rubber pad or some other material that sits between the boot spiler and the boot lid itself. Appreciate any help

Thanks

Carey

Hi,

When i rippedo ff the spoiler off my gtt, there was a thick layer of double sided tape that was stick on the bottom of the spoiler and the boot.

Hope that helps.

i took mine off too, you should find some tacky sponge like layer that holds it down , if not it moves than someones already removed or played with your spoiler. try your local panel shop, they can give you some of that sponge stickt crap and try re sticking it

They move.. its just the way it is .. better than it bending the shit out of the bonnet.

FYI it does break off mines reached very high speeds.

I have been to 180 and havn't seen any movement, rattling, nothing at all at that speed straight line for a good 2 minutes at 180.

Unfortunately i have a speed limiter so i can't reach a higher speed to know if my spoiler will rip off haha, but it shouldnt come off at speeds higher than that anyhow! Plus you'd hope aerodynamically at any higher speed that your spoiler would help you keep some sort of downforce if anything. not fall off....then again they arn't exactly made for downforce but none the less they should do something, but definately not fall off.

I'd say what the guys above already have said and that is to just get some strong adhesive that will keep it in place or if you really love your spoiler, resin is your best friend :bunny:
