Hi ppl,

was wondering what is the maximum boost(PSI/bar) a stock engine with supporting mods can handle...

engine would be a RB25det NEO.

supporting mods would be:

gt3037

injectors

fuel pump

afm etc etc.

found many info on boost level for turbo but not for engine.

or it is the same for turbo and engine?

thanks in advance!

cheers!

i think he means how long will the engine last... not the turbo??

in that case how longs a piece of string??

cause it can put out lots of power for a short time :)

boost would also depend on the size of the turbo.. but id say youd be able to put out 280-300rwkw somewhat reliably..

well it should last more than a year :P

id say around 16psi... 18 pushin it... i dont think you would get to much more of a gain pushing that turbo on much more boost than that but im not a expert on turbos =P

it depends on the size of the turbo and the condition of the motor.

no one can put their finger down and say "you can run X amount of boost on a X motor". there is only safe boost information for turbos.

my advise would be to do a wet and dry compression test, return the results to your tuner and let him estimate what he thinks is safe. hopefully he knows what he is doing and has come across an RB and GT3037 combo before which he can base his safest tune from.
