hi guys..

so i picked up my new to me r32 gtst yesterday... very happy with it, even though not as tidy as i had hoped

driving through sydney... no worries.. has the little stall out problem like all rb's but no dramas otherwise.

get it on the freeway though... cruising back to newcastle at 110kms/h... it would cut out... exactly like it was running out of fuel. hitting the throttle wouldnt do anything but i could get two throttle pushes in before it would come good, and then it would do it again... and then it would come good for a while longer.

in the hour and 30 min it was on the freeway, it did it about 4 times.. temps and pressures are all ok, it happened in 5th gear, up a slight hill, but even on a descent... and just as it was coming up to atmospheric pressure.. not boosting or vacuum. aka, 0 on the stock boost guage.

the car is stock apart from a pod, 3" turbo back exhaust, and a hybrid fmic. thats seriously all it has.. no boost controller, no a/m bov.

i dont know much about the car yet and im not as familiar with the problems of an rb20 like i am with the rb25, but the service history is up to date, and from what the previous owner said, he has got any problems fixed up asap.

i have a few ideas as to what it could be.. afm, bov leaking, air leak somewhere, overfuelling due to fmic, coilpacks, plugs, earthing problem, ecu problem, or even battery problem.

but its late now and i cant be stuffed looking at it, so i figured id put it on here and check the responses, then have a look tomorrow.

cheers

Linton

yeh ill check that too, thanks.

the problem isnt soo much what it is... its the randomness that it does it.... if it did it every time it boosted.. or every 40* day, or when its raining or anything... as long as its consistant... but this is not, i drove it out to east maitland and back, bout an hour trip all up... didnt make a peep... same running conditions as freeway.

grrrrr.... i hate these intermittant problems!!

cheers

Linton
