I parked the GTR with 2 wheels on the nature strip, and 2 wheels off, so basically passenger side wheels were higher than the drivers side, which were on the road.

I then went to leave after a while, but the car didn't want to move, and there was a sound coming from the rear diff as if it wasnt engaging, kind of like when you dont put a car in gear properly? Even if reverse, it made the same noise and didnt want to move. I had to roll it off and when all 4 wheels were at the same level, off she went.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

GTR diffs are mechanical but if one side is completely unloaded it will freewheel. There is a sensor on the drivers side of the diff which I am guessing is why your front wheels didn't engage. I reckon if you were parked identically but with the opposite wheels on the grass and road, then the sensor would have noticed the wheel spinning and engaged the front wheels.

I'm not a GTR person but I do have a GTR diff in my car.
