That's freakin' cheap. Mine was $3k plus tyres.

MAKE SURE you ask what is included with the $2.5g! You don't wanna be slapped with extra charge of this and that especially with your aftermarket parts, they'll probably gonna charge you labour cost to remove them, fit std parts on for compliance, then refit your parts back on after compliance, that could sting a bit.

could be an earth wire kit (I hope for your sake) which is said can improve voltage stability and give a bit more power, regardless whether you're skeptical about it or not...

if it's some dodgy wiring from previous owner, then I wish you the best of luck it didn't stuff up

welcome to the world of importing cars from Japan!

don't let the rarity of an expensive jap wheel deter you at all. If anything its a plus that you're getting it with the car. You will also have slightly better re-sale value once you get sick of the wheels and want something else. Definately unique looking wheels and better than anything you can buy locally. I vote you keep it, and lower the car to suit :(

Looks like a wiring earth kit and quite a well done one, as they can sometimes be everywhere.

isn't it lowered already ? I cant afford anything else unless it's free :)

The 2.5g doesnt include tyres. I was told that the tyres on the car are in good condition so therefore didn't need to buy new ones. And how much can they charge to take things on and off cant be more then a few hours work , so anothe couple of hundred max .

Manda-those wheels are hot dont loose them just yet. The biggest issue is the fact that they are 20Inch which means rubber is expensive. etc. fact is you will scratch any rim at some point. Worry about it only when you've knocked them round a bit.(swap them if you must for 19's)

My 05 premium is chipped (not sure but must be Impul from all I see/hear), and has the slightly bigger exhaust. It runs like a Dream on 98 Oct so dont panic. No problems starting at all !. The power output at the engine with the chip & exhaust will get you around the 221kw (298Bhp)or over 200 hp at rear- no problem.

Compliance cost 3K+GST. (three people quoted exactly that figure)). Exhaust changes will be at cost to remove then replace once complied. +Tyres separate.

As others have said check they are doing everything.

Sorry-they are 19inch rims-Just unusual to run 35 profile. Normally run 40 for 19's. But shes running slightly wider fronts 245 (i/o 225) so guess that offsets.

Thanks for your input. So is your chip impul as well and what does it do ? I have the fujitsubo exhaust system as well have you had it dyno tuned im curious to see. I was thinking about selling those wheels and getting something a bit cheaper to give me some money back from the compliance , etc.

Also yes they are 19" . The tyres are 245/35/19 and not sure about the rear maybe bigger. If i have to buy some more tyres i will be very angry ! What colour is yours and what wheels you got on it . Do you have any pictures . Mine is a 03 model.

Here is my o5 coupe. Not sure what the chip is. I know all standard V35's pull 206kw.Add the exhaust & chip and the I few a saw/test drove were all quoting 221kw(298BHP) which is easy to believe. You loose about 30% to the back wheels. (so near enough).

Look at the wheels another way-Check what you would get for em now & if its alot less than a decent set of 19's you will be out of pocket anyway. Better to hang on to them. otherwise choice is yours..

    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lymphomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, conjuring more rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
    • As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had some trouble with the Silvia's brakes dragging back in 2023. I managed to sort it out then, but the same problem came back to bite me late last year. Just take a look at the picture – I had a feeling the handbrake was acting up again, and I was right. Anyway, I'd been wanting to upgrade to bigger brakes for a while. Not that the Silvia's brakes were bad, but it was more of a "want" than a "need", you know? It was funny, though – at the time, I couldn't find any Evo Brembos, 350Z Brembos, or GTR Brembos for a decent price (of course, tons of them popped up online after I already bought my kit!). I ended up going with an F50 Brembo kit, which came with adapters, brake lines, 330mm rotors, and top hats. The F50 Brembo caliper was used in a few other cars too, like the FPV. I also decided this was the perfect opportunity to ditch the Silvia's ridiculous rear brakes and that awful handbrake (some of you were definitely right about that!). I picked up some R33 calipers and all the necessary bits – rear drums, backing plates, and new hardware to refurbish the calipers. Of course, it wouldn't be a project without a few hiccups. Turns out the brake master cylinder was playing up and basically (to put it simply) keeping the brakes engaged. I had it overhauled, and after some adjustments, everything was working again. The whole process took a while, as you can imagine. To top it off, the front right wheel bearings were shot and needed replacing too. This is a rare occasion where I'm posting an update while it's all still fresh! These pictures were taken just this afternoon.
