Quick question, how do I tell a GT500 block from an N1 block? I know the N1 has "24U" stamped on it, are their unique markings for the GT500 block just by looking?

Didnt Nissan only use the GT500 block in the Z-tune?

Nope the GT500 block was and i think still is available from Nissan pretty rare and very expensive. If i remember correctly somewhere around the 9000 pounds mark.

no longer in production .. made by nismo .. engine number will start with NS and RRR will be where the O5U/24U usually is ... you will pay around 8 - 10 k for a good s/h block or around 12 for a newy if you can find someone that has one stashed away somewhere

Yeah there was a couple of guys in the UK who had new ones, but were not parting with them for anything.

It was basically the next step up from N1, but not sure it was the full race block as used when Nissan were racing RB26's.

there is one on yahoo japan auctions otherwise TODA racing had one... I offered $10k was willing to accept but i bought a few N1's instead.
