its not that the tanks have to be majorly different

its that only 1 brand of tank has paid for the required R&D to be able to certify they are safe

and they charge a mint for their tanks

Just got an email from PJ (Paul) and he just ran 503 rwhp on the JEM dyno with 25 psi on a 3076 and 1.12 exhaust housing on E85 with 1600cc indy blue injectors.

He mentioned they did run up to 27.5 psi boost and made more power but were concerned for the intregity of the SR20 block as it wasn't sleeved.

376 rwks' has surely got to be a record out of a 3076 on any engine.....

He was frying 4th on the M5 :)

Mine will be getting tuned next week.

I made 348 at 19psi.23psi will be the aim next week, id like to see what 25psi makes on the RB though.

PJ also has water injection, so that would keep the air charge temps way down.

Im excited!!! :)

Yes frying 4th at 160klm's.

He wasn't using the water injection in that 503hp dyno run.....insanely enough there is more power to come.

So he's found and extra 50 odd rwhp from the bigger ex housing, 1 psi more boost, upgraded fuel system, M&W CDI and retune.

He also mentioned EGT's were way down with the larger ex housing - as you would expect.

Been there done that. after a few sets of tyres you wonder what the fuss was all about in the first place.

With a 3076 tho? OK techically PJ is running a T25 flanged HKS 56 trim 3037 on a 2 litre.

Bigger turbo's on bigger engines make bigger torque so you'd kinda expect more fryability.

regardless of turbo / setup, you get over it after a while :)

Haha....yes always modifying for that bigger "fix" once you get used to it.

I'm always fascinated how enthusiasts are raising the bar all the time - its amazing what people are screwing out of there motors these days.

However, what was awesome last year is average this year....and so on......where will it ever end. :)

Quick question people. What will 555cc injectors run out at roughly (kw) when using E85 on a gts-t?

About 340rwkw on std pressure using BSFC = 0.6(which is about what I've found).

BTW I've made just over 600rwhp on E85 using 60LB/hr(630cc/min) with 4Bar base pressure on an XR6T which confirms my BSFC calc of 0.6.

I'm running RB25 with a .68 on a 3037 Pro S.

Standard Manifolds E85 etc etc.

that is some off the chart torque there champ....

must be hell of a ride...

what other supporting mods?

also at what revs is it making full boost?

Yeah mate lots of fun.

Just the normal stuff

PFC

HKS Turbz

850 Sard injectors

Blitz LM cooler

Blitz POD

Standard BOV

Z32 AFM

Nismo FPR

Bosch 044 in tank

Gizzmo EBC

oh and lots of boost :D (23psi)

where is the torque read out?

Heres a torque read out just for you GT....180or200's car in red (3582 .82) and mine in blue(3037 .68) overlayed on the same Dyno.

900nm, nice.. my car was making around 1080nm to 1180nm but it never had a aggresive tune, 500cc don't make too much difference.

standard internals? 23psi??

what's with people running massive boost on un-opened engines?? i think hamish is like 23psi as well on his 33?? :P

The pressure from pre-ignition is far greater, since E85 doesnt have that problem should be fine! I've seen Lee's car hold 30 psi on the road on a cold night, that was radical!

well i would presume (based upon what ive read) due to detonation and all, with e85 which dies off once it hits its top end of power instead of detonation that it would be much safer to push more boost without the knock.

although...i may just be wrong.

people still think that E85 is the ticket to more safe power. This is not the case! you are still limited to the engines internals.

it is easier and safer to make the power but if you are using standard internals or have a weak engine it will still break.

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
