Matt,

A Kaaz centre is definately on the cards and i will doing everything possible to straighten my wheels up (has a bit of camber because of the coilovers at the moment even after a wheel alignment). Yeah i think your right about traction in fourth, going to struggle no matter what i do in the first three gears me thinks (especially when the cool air comes).

Did you manage to get the 14th free for westys dyno day mate?

Lee

Mate, if I have traction issues in 3rd, with the A/C on full blast, on a 37-39'c day, running 275 MT Radials, about -0.3 rear camber, and with less grunt, you've got no chance ha-ha. Cool temp's are going to be interesting.

It's not looking all that good at the moment. How long have I got before they close the entries? Knowing my luck I won't be free... and 3 to 4 days out the schedule will change and I will be free!

Congrat's Hamish. Nice result! Nice and responsive too.

I hear ya with the traction issues.......

Theres still 10 spots left and i think entries close 12th March. Altho if spots arent full by then i would guess you can pay on the day.

All this E85 talk wants me to try it now, is there any news on how E85 will be expanding around the country? Is it ment to be becoming more readily available? I think it's going to take ages until we get some up here, even though we pretty much grow all the sugar canes! :glare:

Ran the car up quickly on the dyno this morning (1 power run only)to see what gains (if any) the new injectors, pump and actuator have made.

Just to recap.

Swapped out nismo 555's for sard 850's.

Swappd out Nismo pump for 044 intank.

Replaced 10psi actuator for 18psi one.

Previously the car made 337 with AFR's between 12-12.5 and spiking to 24psi trailing to 19psi (injectors at 100% duty)

This time the car made 346.6 with AFR's between 11.5-12 and spiking to 26psi trailing to 22-23 psi (injectors at 91% duty) will raise base pressure when i receive my fpr.

We will lean on it a bit more for the upcoming dyno day but very happy with the current tune.

Will post dyno sheet in the next day or so.

Lee

Guilt-toy, why don't you try running 50% BP Ultimate and 50% E85? That should give you more power out of the injectors compared to 100% E85 but more power than the BP Ultimate because of the higher octane rating. If you max out your injectors too early, try slightly lowering the boost until the injectors max out right on redline. Should be good for 400 i reckon!

It'd be a pain in the ass mixing it all the time but i reckon it'd be the perfect balance, especially considering you max out your injectors too early on E85.

well after nearly 2 weeks on e85 i have made the executive descision that i will simply travel to whoop whoop once a week to fill up my car and 2 jerrys...

do not wanna go back to 98! :bunny:

we'll see how long before i get jacked of that :)

Yet another outstanding result, Lee. Congrat's. And to think, only a few months ago it was making almost 100rwkw less :bunny:

It looks like the 3037 (0.68) is starting to reach the limit with your current set-up (cams/head etc) given the mild 9-10rwkw gain from a 3-4psi increase in boost. But with near enough to 350rwkw, and very good response, you couldn't ask for much more.

Time to upgrade those cams now.

Thanks Matt definately couldn't ask for more.....The 337 dyno was running a fair bit leaner so i guess if i was to run the current set up as lean there could be a few more kw hiding. I definately think the turbo and manifolds are getting very close to their limit.

As for cams they can wait until the engine needs to be opened (altho would be nice), time to enjoy it me thinks....

Did you manage to get the 14th off mate?

Lee

Not bad for stock cams and stock manifolds!

Yep, I'm good to go for the 14th. I'll have to get my entry in. However, there's one slight issue, one that may or may not be a show-stopper for me, my rear rubber. MT ET's don't handle knurled dyno rollers well at all, and I'm not all that keen on stuffing around swapping rears for the sake of a quick dyno shootout.

I'll have a chat to Shaun and see if he reckons they can give an accurate reading for one or two quick runs. We had to borrow a set of 'normal' rubber for the recent tune work.

I'll be at the dyno day no matter what, it's just a matter of will I or won't I run the '33.

The Mickey's wont handle the dyno...they will shred rubber like a black hailstorm behind the car...ive seen it 1st hand with my car.

GuiltToy you said PFC knock detection was not up to scratch (can't find the original post now) but is the problem with the PFC hardware or software or the nissan knock sensors or all of the above? If I get a Link/Vipec will it function OK with the Nisssan knock sensors? I know that Link have a knock detection system as well - should I get their sensors or do i need to get a Gizzmo K-Mon to accurately set timing? (it's sort of on the subject ...I want to use an ethanol blend and do the tuning myself - I have a wideband meter).

standard knock sensors are only good for 220rwkw. if you have more power then that then you need to change them. if you have a GTR then those knock sensors are better.

I would buy new vipec ones if you cannot afford a k-mon
