did you guys replace fuel hoses at all?

i just replaced mine with these to be safe http://mrparts.com.a...product_id=1434

my last car converted to e85 and the fuel hoses turned to liquid in a few days lol

for people in north/eastern burbs of melbourne, a united servo with E85 just opened up in Doreen on corner of yan yean and bridge inn road :)

Nice, that would be the closest United e85 pump to the Hume right? I will be driving up to Sydney on e85 next weekend so I will fill up there on my way. Thanks Paul.

I wonder if we could get a google map together with all the e85 servo's in Australia listed, I have to find the Sydney outlets and it's a pain to look up each one, plus most of the location lists are behind...

I replaced all my lines with Teflon braided hose, it wasn't cheap, I ran the stock lines for over 2 years though without any issues. Later cars will be less susceptible to ethanol corrosion as materials have become more tolerant.

i was under the impression late 80's, early 90's onwards and you'd be fine?

my previous car, 1998 R34 GT-T had completely stock lines, for everything. It's been on E85 for... 4-5 years now? New owner kept it on E85. Not a problem.

I ran my first tank or so of Eflex and changed my filter (Z201 on R33) just so I know the filters good . I replaced the rubber hose on the pressure side (filter side) just because I tend to do this with fuel hose when working on it . I will get around to doing the return side eventually again just so its a known quantity .

I think the main concerns are in the engine bay because of the fire risk if they fail .

Also I bought 5/16 EFI hose and it proved difficult to get the new hoses over the barbs with the original clamps , had to put the clamps on the steel lines and then the hose over the barbs and the clamps back on the slightly larger OD imperial hose which is awkward . The lesson learnt is buy metric hose or slightly larger clamps .

BTW picked open the old Ryco Z201 filter which looked fine as in no garbage , a little dark but they probably all do that . I want to rat up an R31s fuel filter bracket and see if it will fit so I can use the larger can and hopefully filter element area Z202 filter . Bigger filter can't hurt and I will open an R31 filter next time I'm at a you pull it wreckers .

I would like to see more United E85 in Sydney so I could try some and compare E70 to E85 mixture ratio differences . Ultimately the Eflex may give a bit better mileage/consumption and the 15% ethanol difference is probably unimportant in a road car provided its in a sensible state of tune and not on the bleeding edge of detonation .

The exception would be EPA testing where the higher the ethanol content the better and a real good cat and tune .

We need to get GT kicked out of Georgia so he has to come home and tune our cars , A .

caltex has a good fuel station locator if anyone's interested, it shows your where the E85 is located in the country to plan your trips, i have 3 within 30mins and are usually on the way to my destinations :P

how many kms are you guys getting to a tank, im getting about 300km with average driving, love the smell of it on a cold start..

What sort of water temps are you guys seeing? Been driving in the hills a few times on a cool night and it sits around 65-70 degrees!!! even around town In traffic I never see it pass 75, was thinking maybe the thermostat is stuck open but then I read of other guys having similar experiences..

lol.. funny that, my clutch seems to be going too, sometimes it grips and just get wheels spin, other times it just feels like its not there, :/

i think ill get my second gear some new syhchro's and bearing when the clutch gets done so will be much better..

What sort of water temps are you guys seeing? Been driving in the hills a few times on a cool night and its sits around 65-70 degrees!!! even around town In traffic I never see it pass 75, was thinking maybe the thermostat is stuck open but then I read of other guys having similar experiences..

mine will sit on about 76 unless im in stop/start driving or highway with a/c on, definitely runs cooler after the transistion to eflex, although i have ceramic coated manifold and housing ..

ive always hated it anyway.. its too light and soft, a short shifter kit and a heavy meaty clutch will make a world of difference.. :yes:

Mine is a VERY heavy clutch but a very light pedal feel apparently (yet to trial it).... Can't wait

Don't have an accurate guage mate.... Planning on installing a set in the near future but pretty sure mine is making operating temp OK.... Possibly yours is stuck open?

mmm might just be a combination of e85, turbo being oil cooled only and a deleted stock oil to water cooler/warmer... Will have to pull the thermostat to be sure i guess.

I would be checking it first :) do a test and see if it's working with hot/cold water etc

My temp seems normal 80°c. Normal driving

On boost temp drops because of the eflex
