Ok i need committed people only posting here.

As its been a long time since we did a bulk CB purchase (for cruises etc).

Im gonna organise another.

I need a rough idea of how many people will take one (or two).

We'll be aiming for 1.5-2watt items, we find the 1watt ones just dont have enough juice. So hence the price might be higher, but i prefer decent items!

Pricing is 'usually' somewhere from $60-$100. Price dictated by how many people i can muster no doubt so more the merrier

DUUUUDDDEEE...SERIOUSLY ASH! I JUST BOUGHT 2 CB'S AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME? Hahaha anyways man I don't know if you'll fly with this but here's what I bought FDC-160 5 Watts, $100 (for 2) if you want i could see if he'll give a bigger discount seeing that I already bought 2 and gonna buy 2 sets of VOX mics, I know your prob thinking ebay junk but man they are pretty good for this price, great reach, works with repeaters, pretty flexible in terms of use, only down side I would have to say is the antenna seems a bit flimsy and fragile but nothing a short trip to the store wont fix, I was skeptic at first until I read some eham reviews this & this the pictures look like cheap plastic and toys but they actually have pretty solid feel, I can bring mine to the next meet if you want to fiddle with it, I'm using it on the meet up on Friday if your going to be there you can borrow one for the night

Oh an apparently ppl complain about the lack of a DTMF button but I've never used it so it's not a con for me

Sorry Ash, the one I've got is a 3W UHF CB, not a 2 Watter, and its fucking phenominal compared to the toys being peddled on ebay and shit...

Although at full crank the reception is awesome, it chews through the battery (you can drop the power down to get more life out of the battery). If you get 4 or more I can get em for $95... they're a bit exxy, but the range is nice.

problem with those ones is that everyone would need to get UHF radios...since they run on the UHF frequency and CB radio is on the HF frequency.

so basically anyone with a normal "CB" radio wont be able to communicate with you...i.e. the typical 40 channel CB radios you commonly get in Australia.

$95 isnt bad when you consider is comes with a mains recharger... its very reasonable for that price and 3watt!

it wont burn an entire battery on a 3-4hr cruise, and then its just a case of plug him in @ home

Hows people for the $95 option?

Oh sorry well battery wise my battery lasts ages haven't had to charge it since I got it but I haven't been on in continuously yet so cant really report, but yea I didn't realize that you were looking for non UHF my bad

HEY! Don't diss my ebay shit...oops I mean product! Na man I feel where you coming from usually I don't really have high expectations of ebay stuff and a lot of it is junk but seriously man don't judge this one before you try it, it really blew me away for $50 man it's totally worth it. I'm hitting a repeater ages away from where I'm at and I love the features on this thing seriously man don't be to quick to judge you can use it if you want to try it out

oh one more cool thing about it... if you want MORE range... then unscrew the antenna on the top, and run a wire with a BNC connector to a car mounted unidirectional UHF antenna (or bull bar mounted antenna if you're 4WD'ing)... or you can look like a total twat and get a bigass directional UHF antenna and walk around with one :P You'll get reception from a hundred K's away.

    • You have the option to do this. Nobody but me ever did this (go slower, I mean) Everyone seems to fall victim to "This would be a great setup for you, but for me, I need a little more power..."

    • There's a post from a member (can't recall who), went down the path of a twin scroll G30-660 and it's doing over 300kW+ AND comes on about the same as a high flow RB25DET turbo. Have your cake and eat it too in this case. TBH, if I had a 2nd chance of building my car again (i.e. someone gave me what I wanted for my shit box, but the deal was I had to re-build another R33 and keep the change) I would just pop in a stock NEO motor (with new seals, rod bearings, ARP studs, head gasket, sump, Nitto pump), get a smaller twin scroll turbo, modify the stock low mount (keep the divider in place), and make a solid 300kW on 98RON and call it a day.
