R31Nismoid
Ok i need committed people only posting here. As its been a long time since we did a bulk CB purchase (for cruises etc). Im gonna organise another. I need a rough idea of how many people will take one (or two). We'll be aiming for 1.5-2watt items, we find the 1watt ones just dont have enough juice. So hence the price might be higher, but i prefer decent items! Pricing is 'usually' somewhere from $60-$100. Price dictated by how many people i can muster no doubt so more the merrier Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239437-bulk-buy-cbs/ Share on other sites

Hahaha anyways man I don't know if you'll fly with this but here's what I bought FDC-160 5 Watts, $100 (for 2) if you want i could see if he'll give a bigger discount seeing that I already bought 2 and gonna buy 2 sets of VOX mics, I know your prob thinking ebay junk but man they are pretty good for this price, great reach, works with repeaters, pretty flexible in terms of use, only down side I would have to say is the antenna seems a bit flimsy and fragile but nothing a short trip to the store wont fix, I was skeptic at first until I read some eham reviews this & this the pictures look like cheap plastic and toys but they actually have pretty solid feel, I can bring mine to the next meet if you want to fiddle with it, I'm using it on the meet up on Friday if your going to be there you can borrow one for the night Oh an apparently ppl complain about the lack of a DTMF button but I've never used it so it's not a con for me Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239437-bulk-buy-cbs/#findComment-4183229 Share on other sites

funkymonkey
Sorry Ash, the one I've got is a 3W UHF CB, not a 2 Watter, and its fucking phenominal compared to the toys being peddled on ebay and shit... http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...keywords=DC1060 Although at full crank the reception is awesome, it chews through the battery (you can drop the power down to get more life out of the battery). If you get 4 or more I can get em for $95... they're a bit exxy, but the range is nice. evade
as long as its got rechargable batteries i bought these two uniden ones and they are CRAP on batteries. even on standby/switched off they don't last AT ALL.. so annoying.. W0rp3D
Im after one but the 2 main criteria i have is that it either run off normal batteries (aa, aaa, c, d) or be able to recharge from a 24v lighter. R31Nismoid
$95 isnt bad when you consider is comes with a mains recharger... its very reasonable for that price and 3watt! it wont burn an entire battery on a 3-4hr cruise, and then its just a case of plug him in @ home Hows people for the $95 option? Oh sorry well battery wise my battery lasts ages haven't had to charge it since I got it but I haven't been on in continuously yet so cant really report, but yea I didn't realize that you were looking for non UHF my bad Sorry Ash, the one I've got is a 3W UHF CB, not a 2 Watter, and its f**king phenominal compared to the toys being peddled on ebay and shit... HEY! Don't diss my ebay shit...oops I mean product! Na man I feel where you coming from usually I don't really have high expectations of ebay stuff and a lot of it is junk but seriously man don't judge this one before you try it, it really blew me away for $50 man it's totally worth it. I'm hitting a repeater ages away from where I'm at and I love the features on this thing seriously man don't be to quick to judge you can use it if you want to try it out Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239437-bulk-buy-cbs/#findComment-4185695 Share on other sites

funkymonkey
oh one more cool thing about it... if you want MORE range... then unscrew the antenna on the top, and run a wire with a BNC connector to a car mounted unidirectional UHF antenna (or bull bar mounted antenna if you're 4WD'ing)... or you can look like a total twat and get a bigass directional UHF antenna and walk around with one You'll get reception from a hundred K's away.
