Looking to get a couple of new tyres for the stag. Tyre size is 235/45/17 (if i recall correctly!). Last place i went was Tyre Power on Magill Rd, I've been told Blackwood Tyre Power is a good place to go to. Any ideas where i should go? Looking to spend about $100-$150 per tyre. Recommendations on reasonable priced vendors? thanks.

maxxis z1 ftl :( noooooo grip!

I rate them ;) (Maxxis Vectra MA-Z1) good grip wet or dry, close to my Bridgestone SO3's

I also believe they rate well in most comparison tests, and especially for the price (half of the SO3 price)

Craig, your problem could be suspension rather than rubber.

I'd personally be allowing a good $1000 for all round rubber.

yeh that's usually a good number for 17-18" tyres. i personally think at least around $200ea new, unless ur drifting in low level comps.

just seems kinda like a waste to spend $$ on a performance car, then modify the power and suspension only to put shitty tread on it and cancel it all out because u have f**k all grip.

Agree with both of the above.

Maxxis rated well in independant tests; are silicon based; have an agressive tred pattern (asthetics); and had a good price (just over $200 each for a 17" tyre).
