rev210
Just wondering if people have some experience with a good workshop to get front CV's done on a GTR. The drivers side one I suspect is foobar and I'm way too busy to spend the time blood sweat and tears I normally would on DIY so I'll pay for it to get done this time. Just want a reccomendation on a place that is good value. rev210
Not really any help I'm afraid given there isn't any CV specific experience quoted on the thread. Looking for a CV repair/labour specifically. Allens CV's does them but, I'm looking for good options for who is going to do the actual fitting the right way and are good value. Like I said I would normally do it myself but, I'm not in the mood for the mucking around. Since I normally do these things myself (with the trusty GTR manual in tow) I expect a decent standard of work. R DIRTY 3
Allans CV Joints are pretty good. I know several people that have had them done there and no problem. If you want genuine CV's then ask them if thats an option.....they may say you buy them and they will fit them. JH32
I used 'Outer Control' in Myaree ... they did a good job and from memory weren't overly expensive. RadiuM
a big thumbs up for allens cv's. took the stagea and gtr in and they were a great help. two outer cv's replaced on the stagea, plus reconditioning and new boots on the inners for 600 odd (inc labour). and a new outer on the gtr for 230 inc. N1GTR
FYI the genuine CV repair kit (and the CV itself) are suprisingly affordable from most Nissan Stealerships Ive done 3 so far from launching and a buggered engine mount (which was also caused, by launching) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239778-gtr-cv-dramas/#findComment-4440798 Share on other sites
syfon
I know my previous car wasn't a skyline, in fact it was a toyota paseo, but when the front left cv joint went on that i took it to australian cv joints in balcatta to get it recond. Cost me around the $175 mark for it to be completely recond labor inc. That's my 2cents worth! shaund
Steve's Shed in Wangara.... Steve and I rebuilt my GT-R including some pretty extensive structural rust repairs (ended up with a chassis). Replaced engine, gearbox, entire drivetrain from a half cut. Knows what hes doing, and is familiar with CVs in the GT-Rs (from the work we've done on my car). Quite cheap and takes his time to do a proper job. Will also tell you anything else he finds wrong along the way. Corner of Brady St and Ocean Reef Road in Wangara. 08 9409 7920 / 0417 969 358 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239778-gtr-cv-dramas/#findComment-4453867 Share on other sites
sandGroper
Alans Cv's are very very good. They have custom made cv's to suit high powered cars, good price and they know what they're doing. Also, im a big fan of genuine, have a look here http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...at=0&page=1 genuine full shaft, at a bloody good price. But if i was you, i would do whay N1GTR said. Give nissan a call, you may be pleasantly supprised. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239778-gtr-cv-dramas/#findComment-4453922 Share on other sites
