Hey all, i have an R33 GTS-T and recently it has been starting quite wierd, ususally i turn the key give it the sufficient amount of cranks and presto shes going.

As of recently i will start her up i need to hold they key cranking for a bit longer to get it going. If i let go at the amount of cranks i would usually let go at it feels like its going to stall or does..

-Car is stock no recent mods put on.

-Recently changed the battery and checked the alternator, i thought the battery was what was causing it originally but it seems not to be the case.

Does anyone have a clue as to what it might be as im puzzled??

timing isn't right.... check that it is set to 15 degrees or take it to the work shop that did the service...

bit of a noob mate lol, how would i check if its at 15 degress?

Also could it be the starter motor on its way out?

you need to use a timing light... it fires a light every time the No.1 cylinder fires, you aim it at the harmonic balancer. The balancer has markings of 5 degrees on it and there is a mark on the lower timing belt cover.

best to get your mechanic to check it...

Ok awesome. really appreciate ur help :)

Just a scenario, lets say it is the timing belt thats off, is it really doing any damage to the car or is it just making it harder to start?
