The masters is usually one of, if not, the biggest club organised race meetings of the year...

Entry to the show and shine is 15 dollars, and youll get two tickets to get in and have a look around.

There's plenty on over both days including:

HQ Holdens, Improved Production, Formula Vee's (1200 & 1600cc), Historic Touring, Saloon Cars & Modern Regularity as well as some others!

For more information about how to enter (but be quick) email [email protected]

Anybody with a street car, that has good tyres, a fire extinguisher and is generally roadworthy (ie oil leaks etc; not oversize wheels or whatever). Can enter to race over both days for $98!!!

Do you need a CAMS license to race, and would it be door to door racing, lap times in a mixed field or what??

Sounds good for $98, depending on the amount of laps you would get.

It's Modern Regularity, which means cars dont have to be as modified safety wise as in improved production. It also means that rather than be off the grid, you try to be the most consistent around the track (note the word TRY :) ) You get 1 point for every tenth of a second your slower than your nominated time and 2 points for every tenth faster. At the end of the race the person with the least points after 20 laps or so wins. This doesnt mean that you can't go out and have fun, find ya limits and enjoy ya car; but if youre clearly stuffing around and doing fully-opp drifting around every corner then youll probably get a talking too.

If you are interested youll have to be quick because it's not much more than a week away.

You do need a CAMS license, but that's easy to arrange, other than that im pretty certain all you need is:

helmet

full length clothing (ie long sleeves, pants)

fire extinguisher

legal tread

generally roadworthy car (no oil leaks, frayed seatbelt etc)

a secondary bonnet catch (ie tie your bonnet down in case the catch fails at 200 kays or something)

For more info email [email protected] and he'll be able to help you out with everything, or just tell you more. There are a decent number of events every year, so if youre worried about your CAMS license you can certainly get lots of use out of it!!
