here it goes --A water jacket was leakin on my engine and didnt notice after 2 days! So apperently drove the car with little or no water to and from work 15mins each trip for 2 days! And the temp gauge read normal.

So i changed the jacket filled her up and ive been using her for 2 days now and noticed today when i came from work the catch can was filled to the brim with oil.

water Temp reads fine

oil pressure reads fine

wideband reads fine

car still makes power like before

What u guys think? Seems like i would forkin out for a rebuild!?

motor is f*ked lol

when i cracked 4 pistons in mine, car still went hard, idle like a VW lol and i could fill the catch can pretty quick.

rebuild time mmm

doesn't sound promising, i hate the factory temp sensor cant trust it one bit

in s13's the temp will only go past the middle when its 100c...fail

i know this may be a stupid ques but should i drive it? seeing that it fills the catch can with oil on a 15min drive

well it was 4 cracked ring lands on my pistons that went.

personally i wouldn't drive it. park the car leave it and work out your budget then send it somewhere to be rebuilt.

Step 1/ Take car to mechanic

Step 2/ Have mechanic perform compression test

Step 3/ Go from there

better solution:

go to supersweet auto and get a $25 compression tester

do compression test (the tester will have instructions but i can explain if needed)

should be getting anywhere from 140 upwards in each cylinder

If you had of listened to advice.....

AFR of 9 is just too rich. That why when you drop the pressure, your ratios are getting closer to what they need to be.

You mentioned that you fitted an ECU, but did you tune it? Sounds like the injectors are too big for the program. Retune should do it.

The higher fuel pressure will atomize the fuel more, creating an even air/fuel mixture, therefore a cleaner,better fuel burn.

Your engine would still be OK.

You ignored good decent advice given to you from a well known forum member...

you are using 2 bandaid solutions and 1 monitor only device

throw all of your devices in the bin and buy a real ecu

failing that, if you insist on keeping it, get rid of the mines ecu and use stock ecu

then get the safc tuned properly.

Had you have listened to Paul, (very clever fellow - just look at what he has done for the SAU community) your engine would still be going strong.

okay, Who knows what else you have been playing with in your travels... anyones imagination could probly tell a accurate story.

Your engine has been toasted because you put it through hell.

The good news is, rb25's are getting cheap, I will even sell you one for $1,100 :)

yeh ill do a compression tom........... but i think i'm screwed anyway!

Does anyone know if the head and block from a stagea 25det is the same as the skyline?

I sourced one already an was thinkin bout transfering all my externals including gearbox, sump, ecu and harness to it

Will the stagea 25 make the same power and will my harness(s1) work on this block ie. knock sensors,cas,injectors etc.

And yes i searched!

oh..... and guilt toy i did take the advice I got rid of those ecus a log time ago i think it only lasted 2 days in the car just to try them out. And i did also raise my fuel pressure back to about 30psi.

I suspect it was the over heating that did this.

Pinging the engine just ONCE is enough to do damage to the engine, even though the damage was not noticed straighta way, sometimes it can take some time before the engine stuffs up after a detonate.

The stagea rb25 is different, there are some modifications required to get it to fit. where are you located? your better off getting another engine from a R33 skyline. much easier.

My main concern was the difference in the head if any at all An as i said i will be using the r33 harness and ecu so should i get the same power? R33 is kinda scarce right now.

you have to mod the 25 sump, and you have to make a new oil pickup for the oil.

it can be done, my mate has done it before

    • Hi again all, I’ve tried doing some searching on the topic but couldn’t find the answer I’m looking for.   I deleted my clutch booster because it had an air leak and was squealing like a hog, and now my clutch has very poor pedal feel and the friction zone is way too small, so I believe I need a bigger diameter clutch master cylinder to compensate for not using the booster. I found a Wilwood option that’s 3/4” for a good price and will fit my 3AN clutch line, but all the firewall adapters I see online such as RB factory or Chase Bays are listed as RWD only (GTST/GTS).     • Catching up on a post, I've replaced the external shark fin with a small 4g antenna (no further drilling, just a 1mm embiggening of the existing hole, and run that to where the dual battery models have the battery in the left rear guard.  No idea what the factory antenna did, but removing it had no impact on anything I use, according to the US manual the GPS antenna is in the dash and it still works fine Also ended up stealing battery power from one of the amps and ACC power from a unit nearby to add an ACC relay to power it. The mounted the booster, wifi, power socket and antenna splitter in the rear left guard out of the way, all out of site with the boot trims in
    • What drama? The only drama you're going to have is the near constant work to maintain all those sphericals. I only have sphericals in my front caster rods and front upper CAs (because both of these are near compulsory in an R32). I have had the front arms out of my car 34 times already this month, and if the new replacements arrive today, I will have them out and apart again tomorrow. Chasing clicking and clunking that comes from sphericals being a.....poor choice for a road car. Moisture and dirt are not their friends. I have been contemplating a change to my rear subframe that would require me to use sphericals in my lower CAs. And.....I don't want to have them that close to the road.
    • Did you need anything else you've already done? If you had it before... and liked the changes after, then supposedly it'd be more of the same. The idea about most suspension arms is to tune geometry that the OEM arms max out at/can't handle because they weren't designed to have the car setup in such a way that 'looks good'.
    • I have replaced everything on my r34 including suspension to Miester R, all rear subframe bushes to poly, all arms to metal adjustable and same in front.   only thing I haven't touched is the front lower control arm. Should I? what improvement can i expect ?
