They also have better breathing and you can fit things under them like the Tomei cam baffle kit etc.

MYP16, I raised the back of my bonnet 10mm which helped some, aswell as rearranging the pipework over the engine and losing the stock bov.

yeah thanks for ur help guys but yer it hits right at the front of the covers and cam gear covers meet, fouls by quite a bit so raising the bonnet wont help and i dont really wanna cut my bonnet as its a gtr bonnet , any other engine mounts that can be used?

possibly change gear box and tail shaft angle slightlly.

which could wear out tail shaft uni joints a touch quicker....

i wouldnt worry about that to much tho..

id rather have a bonnet that close's.

haha

My bonnet closes and I haven't done anything drastic like change engine mounts or space the crossmember. You just have to be smart with the piping..

That being said, my bonnet does rub on the intake manifold which will be solved when the forward facing plenum goes on, then it will only rub slightly on the timing belt cover backing plate..

I really don't see how your bonnet can't "close" then, mine hits the timing belt cover backing plate and the intake manifold but it still "closes".

Before I changed the piping setup and removed the stock bov it wouldn't "close", it barely grabbed the safety latch and sat up 4" on one side.

ok the bonnet is not on car yet as the motor is still being built but the block and head are dummy fitted in the car so i sat the cam covers on and wen ya kneel down beside the car and look across it from guard to guard they r sitting up by more than an inch

but i spoke to my fabricator last night and he is gonna lower engine mount brackets etc and make the f**kers fit
