Anyone happen to see what happened to that guy racing in his ferrari, someone seemed to think when they have money their ammune to the law,ha ha ha sucker.

I mean im not one to love the law and the b"llsh"t reasons they come up with to pull us over, but come on anyone driving a car worth that much doing that sh"t in the suburbs in asking for trouble.

What are peoples thoughts on the laws locking up the cars and do you reckon they need to adopt the laws like in other states, cause if they did his car would be block of steel already.

im sure if he can afford a ferrari worth 250k he can afford another one.. lol

Thats a very bad opinion to have. How do you know that he didn't work his absolute ass off for many years to get that ferrari? Would you like it if you spent years upon years working hard to get something and then someone takes it away and just says "I'm sure he can afford another one"

no one should have the right to take your car off you and destroy it, and there is zero evidence to suggest this method of punishment works anyway. its just a simple knee jerk reaction to a age old problem, there have always been hoons and people have always killed themselves in cars, nuthing has changed and these laws wont do anything but see some great bits of machinery crushed into balls of metal

down grade to a GTR? doubt you have never driven a ferrari, I drove a friends twin turbo Tesstarossa for a month, good to look at, piece of shit car, touchy to drive, didnt like a thrashing like my RX7 or GTT, to low hits everything, unless your short you dont fit for shit. but it is cool to be in second gear from start till 100mph..

a GTR is a better car to drive daily by far and about as fast

my friend in the states is wealthy beyond imagination, 12 hi end tricked out cars costing over 400,000aud each and he worked hard to get them , suprising enough he dresses like a grot in torn jeans and wears kmart tenis shoes, but owns a small cruise line, and a few ks of manhatten on central park New york city. at age 34? and like's cab rides instead of limos from the airport from his private learjet to 1 of his houses in aspen or LA he wouldnt be to keen to have a car crushed by speeding around in it, (he has run the cannonball) ?

but hey you can drive a kia and still be a hoon ?, ask the kid on my street who put a chrome can muffler on his and painted the car flat black to mimick carbon fiber .lol

cops paid him a visit for burn outs and noise, damn annoying NA car, 4k downshifts at 4am to get into his driveway.

Hoons come in all types of cars, but crushing the car wont stop people they end up stealing yours to race then?, neither will pulling the license, they just drive without one? give them a race track local then it wont happen so much, one 100ks away isnt the answer we have all this land sitting around , like port stanvac ? im sure they could give up some for a track and desal plant too?

this state needs planners to give people outlets for hobbies like racing ? cops should stop being bad guys and promote car clubs who respect others ? insurance companies see car clubs make people responsible why dont cops ? in LA the cops race with kids at grudge nights ?

my rant..lol sorry

Lets not forget the stories we see on the news. We have the hoons to blame for the hoon laws.

The police are only reacting to the cry to do something about the situation ... especially from the families who have lost someone killed in an accident thanks to a hoon. A very close friend of mine was one such fatality, and another friend a passenger in the car is now disabled ... hit by a hoon racing down Daws Road. :P Therefore I support the hoon laws.

Wait until you lose a close friend/family member to a hoon, then sit in the court room and see the bastard get away with it, because the law at the time didn't deal with hoons.

well it's been 1 year now that Brett West of GWW lost his 17 yr old boy in a high-speed.

Was an innocent passenger in a car travelling at approx 150kph...........driver survived which is pretty common

Unless you know Brett well, probably not a good idea to bring up the subject cause they have forgiven the driver who was a family friend

    • Sounds like it may all just be some baseless outrage stoked by the carexplore guy? As in the linked social media outrage on facebook just goes back to carexplore as a source again. Further shown by the council response that nothing actually has changed: "The Private Land Use Permit has been part of the Casey Community Local Law for a number of years. It's important to clarify that this permit is not new, and no changes have been made to the permit or the Local Law in relation to the permit." The full council response in Prank's link sounds reasonable to me. Saying that as someone who neither lives there nor has a front yard to call their own
    • Clutch hydraulics are also all good, looks like a brand new slave cylinder and everything bled up well. No idea what the actual clutch is, and I don't intend to pull the box off on the floor to find out, so unless we have trouble on the dyno or at shakedown that will remain a mystery for the new owner
    • Front brakes are G4 8 pot calipers over 330mm discs with braided lines. Everything looks good, pretty sure these are off my old 350. Pads are brand new and judging from gold colour are Winmax which is what I also run on my race car, Neil and I both sourced brake stuff from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney who really knows his stuff Everything has bled up nicely with all new Motul RBF600 fluid, there were 2 loose hard line connections and the calipers were new on the car so I ended up doing it 3 times but it is perfect now
    • So, starting with the rear brakes. They look like standard R33 GTST, and will need new pads shortly (less than 5mm material, probably only 1 day left). The slotted discs (probably DBA) are near new at 18.01mm and the lines are braided
