LotusGTR
I'm sure it's on here and I have searched, but to no avail I'm keen to hear from anybody who has run 18 x 10 rims on their R32 GTR. I might want to do this but will not be rolling or modifying guards or using spacers. They are not allowed to foul the suspension or body work under any circumstances (full lock, under compression). I will not be running camber to tuck them in, either. So, do they, can they fit? I'm looking at Rays / Volk TE37s so if you have experience with them, them so much the better. Cheers. Slik_LA
there's no way you can get 18x10's under R32 guards without rolling them with a nice offset I tried everything and settled with rolling them. Looks damn nice though Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/241289-how-wide-can-i-go-before-i-stretch-a-friendship/#findComment-4212343 Share on other sites
tacker
have to roll guards, 37mm off set not sure about camber which would depend on the low the car is riding. GTRsean
18x10's, also had to roll inner lip on rear guards to avoid rubbing. They don't fowl on anything else though. nisskid
have to roll guards, 37mm off set not sure about camber which would depend on the low the car is riding. lol no. +37 will leave u no inner clearance, u will probably need to go at least as low as +20 to give u a decent amount of inner clearance at the front. at the rear u can get away with less inner clearance, but u also have more guard clearance. ISC-Performance
Sold a set of 18x10 +18 to a customer here in SA and he didnt have to roll/lip or do anything to his gaurds. He is running a 265/35/18 tyre so very very minimal stretch. Not sure what camber he is running but visually it doesnt look like much, mabe -1.5 to -2 degrees. LotusGTR
Is 10" really necessary? No. But the set I'm after is on a boat and they might be 10", hopefully 9.5" or 9", so I'm trying to see if I should wait for them or go new before the peso drops any further. wrxkilla
I had fitted to my car 18x10 +15 aluminum Work Meister S2R and have just purchased and fitted Work XD9 18x10+18. I'm happy with them being cast, they are good quality. If I could find some forged TE37 cheap enough i would have grabbed them... You could really do with knowing the exact sizes and offsets first before purchasing... Mark n Russ's old R32 GTR had 18x10.5 Te37s. What ever I go for it has to have lateral clearance for AP CP5555 calipers on 355 rotors. Is that his 'handle' on SAU? Sure is...if you sign up to JDM Style he has a thread that shows some close ups of the 10.5's on the car...might be on SAU as well "...As I'm old, does FTW mean you like camber or you don't? I'm old too (if you look at the wasteland thread asking about age, that is), lol... Dialling in some negative camber improves grip when cornering. It places the tire at a more better angle on the road, transmitting the forces through the vertical plane of the tire, rather than through a shear force across it... and it also helps get the top of the tyre inside the guard. Now I'm laughing. I know what neg camber is, I'm more interested in FTW. I looked it up and it can be sincere or sarcastic. I take it FTW was an endorsement of neg camber. I'm running about an extra degree from stock. Not much but enough. wrxkilla
re the brakes, the work rims fitted over my Alcon callipers with 355mm rotors. I dont think they have quite as much clearance as Weds or Volk though... (both are a lighter wheel than work too) Michael Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/241289-how-wide-can-i-go-before-i-stretch-a-friendship/#findComment-4215095 Share on other sites
