heres another rant for today ... i was told this morning by workmates who travel down grandjunction road that it was totally blocked off at gepps cross cause some hoons .. dont' know if it was stolen .. but i think it was ... hit a poor girl in a little car and i dont' think she is doing too well right now ... whats going on with our society??

there is just so much fcuked up things going on these days ...

forgot to add .. then i saw on a short new bulletin about that car that hit a girl i think it might be the same story ... that was just sick ...

Stolen commy running into a little Barina or something.. yea I saw something about that... Our society sucks.. it wasnt long ago when some gang in a VN bashed some guy to death that was driving a little starlet in glenelg.. seriously don't understand some people

It doesn't matter what car the perpetrators or the victims are driving....commodores or whatever. People who steal cars, bash people in other cars in road rage or drive like dickheads and end up in car chases are criminals and should be treated as such. We all need to be responsible for our own actions.

Let's hope the victim in this case pulls through and is able to enjoy a life that has been jeopardised by someone elses actions.

Just saw this in the paper - the barina looked pretty badly damaged.

And do you know what really sucks, they are under 18 so wont be prosecuted as adults... and now some family has the trauma of seeing there daughter in hospital and all she was doing was going home from a hard day at work.

I just dont get people these days, the world is just insane these days.

2. Why did the cops chase the car in suburban area during peak hours?

3. Car thieves/vandalism should attract more penalty

I don't think it was peak hour - the paper said 3am I'm pretty sure - doesn't matter though - they shouldn't have been chasing them anyway..

Trouble is though if you make a blanket rule of "don’t chase them" it sends out a message of - "do what you like, if you are caught just drive fast and the cops wont chase you"

It’s a bit like the teachers at school who always gave you a second/third/fourth chance. The good kids respected that but the idiots just abused the privilege.

I think the police have to be trained to use their discretion of when / where to chase and when it is just not worth it. Is it any different than when we fang it with a mate on an empty road at night? (We know we wouldn’t be doing it if it was rush hour).

I follow 9krpms sentiments.

I am not an advocate of people not being chased. Chase the pricks, cos if you dont you are just encouraging them.

Send them to gaol, give them huge fines - that will make them think. It seems strange that crimes against society seem to attract relatively minor fines/penalties, yet bullshit things (car too low, turbo timer fitted, travelling 3km over the limit) and you cop a decent fine??

Seems to me if you want to be a dick head, you will get treated with kidd gloves, normal joe, get treated like a criminal.

What ever happened to getting a warning if you were caught a few kms over the speed limit? Happens to everyone. They (polititians) are just money hungry, and yet when it comes to minority groups (real criminals) they seem to get away pretty easy alot of the time.
