ok i've just boutght a new laptop and i need something with wich to manage my music and vids. im not too happy bout itunes because of the way it feels the need to copy all your files into a completely new directory.

the problem is, i have an ipod and i know how ghey apple are with their cross compatibility. if there are any other programs that can interface with the ipod and keep the functionality, please feel free to share.

thanks guys

Hi Basti

I can tell you from experience that Winamp has an iPod plugin you can use.

Another one that is getting lots of praise at the moment is MediaMonkey

There is also a new one coming from the same lot that bought us Firefox. It's called Songbird

That's still in beta though, so I suggest you try the others first.

Hope that helps :D

Yeah, Winamp is the tried and true media player for most. It doesn't chew through processor power like Windows Media Player does (I say this, but I still use Windows Media Player)

You do know that you can change where itunes dumps you music, right?

I use itunes on my PC to manage my music, but only out of convenience... and the fact that I am rarely in front of my PC.

Winamp is a far superior app.

I use Winamp for mine as well. After trying to figure out Itunes, and cracking it after it wouldn't even pick up my ipod, I found Winamp, and it's so easy and quick to use.
Winamp all the way. Itunes sux serious ass

winamp "really whips the llamas ass" :P
