tried searching but coulnd't find what I was after.

just wanted to know where the locations of all the bushes are, cause I'm planning on keeping my car for a while and hear the odd squeaking, rattleing, bumps & vibrations.

My steering wheel would often make noises, when i full lock theres a slight squeak/bouncy feeling and once i start braking, could this be steering rack bushes?

its a 32 gtst, would it be worth replacing them all? would some be more worn than others? and if possible some tips on how to check them.

thanks in advance! :)

I would head to your local Pedders and get them to do an inspection (think its like $15) and they will tell you what needs replacing and what should be looked at in the future. Well worth the money.

Cheers

and you really don't want to know how many bits there are that can wear out....really just stick to what you need to. Pedders is a great place to go to identify problems but personally I would go to a import specialist to get the work done

From memory at the front you have:

upper arm inner bush

upper arm outer bush

kingpin bearing at the top of the hub

wheel bearing

lower arm inner ball joint

lower arm outer ball joint

steering rack end

steering ball joint

steering inner arm

steering rack itself

caster rod bush

strut top mount

swaybar mount bushes

swaybar link bushes

steering rack bushes

steering arm bush

and at the rear

subframe bushes

traction rod inner bush

traction rod outer bush

upper arm outer bush

upper arm inner bush

shock mount bush

lower arm inner bush x2

lower arm outer ball joint

wheel bearing

strut top mount

rear steer ball joint

rear steer rack end

rear steer inner end bush

and in the driveline

engine mount

transmission mount

tailshaft centre CV

tailshaft uni joint

each driveshaft inner and outer cv

diff front bushes

diff rear bushes

i'll go pedders to get a check/quote, but was thinking the same thing and go to a place that does imports to get the work done

cheers!

I agree but forgot to say that i would only get Pedders to check it and give me a list of need replacing then get someone who knows imports to do the work (if i can't)

I had a 32 gtr but blew it up and yes its all going into a vl but im looking for some advice from some RB nuts on pros and cons on putting a 26 head on a 30 bottom end is it worth it Works are as follows Head -Extensive porting 1mm oversized supertech valves Supertech double springs Supertech valve guides Supertech titanium retainers Tomei solid lifters Tomei 270 x 10.25 cams Head drain Bottom end series 2 rb30 block Cp ceramic coated pistons Eagle rods Romac balancer Oil restrictions  O ringed blah blah spent a fortune And will get a girdle because the 30s arent used to handling that much rpm Nitto billet oil pump Hypertune plenum 6boost mani Refurbed astra pump thats the cover for it in the boot I did have a precision 6262 but sold it because drag car life. Currently building the ass end full 4 link floater rear end with a 2 speed  But the dilemma i have is my mate rekens I should just stick with the 30 head for reliability. Has any one had any issues with mounting the 26 head ie compression blowing gaskets etc. Just looking for some advice from people who have gone down this route. Here's some photos. Blew the oil pump in the gtr and decided to rip the motor out at the time and do a full build only to find it had been a repairable write off so went down this path.

    • lol no cats running str pipes … might put the high flow back on but I suspect it might effect my ignition timing a bit.
    • That looks a bit like yellowing to me. If the rear bar was looking like that from rich idle, I'd ask the question, do you have a catalytic converter fitted, and fully working?
    • Oh yeah gets really bad down here. I’ll have to upgrade the heater and wind screen wipers as well for optimal performance.
