Anyone with AutoSpeed Membership - Cooler Flows??

Recommended Posts

Just browsing through Autospeed and i come up with this interesting article and would love to see the results.

http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_0901/article.html

Unfortunately i dont have membership, does anyone have memership to give me access to this results>?

Here are some results: FLOW= 1st Trust RX7 2nd RX7 S6 3rd STI 4th RX7 S4 5th RX7 S5 the Supra was 8th and the R31 was 11th.

Mass= 1st STI 2nd Trust RX7 3rd GTiR 4th Soarer 5th RX7 S6 followed by both RX7 S4,5.

The conclusion:

In terms of outright airflow, the aftermarket

Trust core convincingly proved to be the best in

this group of fifteen. The best heatsink award

goes to the Subaru STi intercooler (even without

the added weight of its aluminium Y-pipe). But -

most importantly - the overall winner must

surely be the Mazda Series 4 and 6 RX7

intercoolers. Costing a mere $200 each, these

flowed very well and had adequate heat-sinking

abilities. On the same value-for-money basis,

other honourable mentions are the Celica GT4

and the RX7 Series 5 intercoolers.

The article isn't really as interesting as it sounds. I'm not convinced the tests mean much in the real tho world because they didn't test the performance of the coolers as heat exchangers.
