Has anyone done an exercise on their r32 to eliminate all the rattles and squeeks? I was thinking of taking the trim off and wd40ing the backside and maybe use foam in areas where it can make some noise. Also maybe sound deaden the doors, to make it a nicer, more solid drive.

Can anyone shed some light on this, or know of a place that does this kind of stuff in Syd.

Yeh thats true. Sourcing where its coming from is pretty hard. I've trying sitting in the passenger seat and trying to pinpoint it. Thats why i was goin to do the process of elimination and just refit the door trim (after wd40ing the contact areas) and go from there.

If someone has a better idea im all ears.

There are two ways to source a squeak or rattle (& if there's more, come on board).

1) your local pharmacist may loan you a spare stethascope for half a day (ie one that he/she's used in the past for blood pressure)

2) riskier, is an old mechanic's trick and it's more discriminating than putting your ear to a screwdriver. Use a wooden dowel.

Risky? It is a bit whilst the driver goes over bumps.

Tez

I've got rid of a few annoying squeaks and rattles over the last few years.

Nuts under passenger side dash area work loose due to them holding plastic in place, locktite em :P

Some of the side trim in the back of the car near the back seat tends to rub too, so I just put double sided tape there and silicon. Pretty good now.

In the end though there's always a noise you can silence, thats what the volume on the stereo's for lol!!.
